I don’t know why I never expected Nikolai to be able to fight.

He had the muscles.

He worked out.

He was aware.

But he never struck me as fierce.

I wasn’t thinking that anymore, though, as I watched him beat the ever loving shit out of his opponent.

He never used a single one of his powers to accomplish it, either.

He did it all with sheer strength, force of will, and knowledge.

He was divine.

All we were supposed to be doing was buying some supplies for the house.

It’d been over two months since I’d woken from my coma, six weeks since he’d told me I was his mate and even longer since the housekeeper had stocked the kitchens.

I’d never been so happy to leave the confines of a house.

I would’ve been happy with going in a plain old car; but, today, Nikolai had taken me on a motorcycle, of all things.

I’d always wanted to ride on one but had never had the courage to ask for a ride.

Today, though, I’d practically begged Nikolai for us to take it.

He’d argued that a truck would hold more groceries, but I’d been adamant.

I didn’t even know why, either.

Just the thought of being in the open air, outside the confines of the sanctuary, turned me into a giggling mass of excitement.

And I was sure that nothing would ruin this day…but I’d been wrong.

Since I was now watching my man get ganged up on by five men.

My uncle’s cronies could ruin my day, as evidenced by the stupid goon trying to slash Nikolai’s face off with a fuckin’ saber sword.

I’d at first tried to help Nikolai, but his insistence that I back up and stay the hell out of it had been loud and clear, even when he hadn’t actually said any of those words out loud.

But he’d been awesome at screaming them inside my head like I was a disobeying three-year-old, rather than a twenty-six-year-old grown ass adult who knew how to wipe her own butt.

I watched with the brick wall of a convenience store at my back.

Nikolai’s bike was on its side where he’d dumped it.

My arm was scratched, and a strange throbbing sensation was going on with my ribs.

Funny enough, I hadn’t remembered ever hitting my ribs. Nikolai had been extremely careful about laying his bike down as we slid.

He’d also made me wear protective clothing, such as a brand new pair of motorcycle boots. A leather jacket with padding in the elbows and back, as well as a pair of pants that were supposedly flame proof.

I was glad he’d forced me to wear them now; but a scant hour before, as I’d been getting dressed, I’d been reluctant.

“Duck!” Nikolai screamed.

Then, I was seeing nothing but black. Everything around me was black.

“Nikolai!” I whispered frantically. “I can’t see!”

Strong arms, the arms that I was coming to care for in the short few days that we’d officially started to ‘date,’ wrapped around me.

“Shh,” he breathed, so low that I couldn’t be sure that he said anything at all.

Grab the bike, he whispered through my brain.

I moved my arms forward and grabbed on to the bike, feeling him shift as he got on. Then he pulled me on behind him and a loud roar sounded as he turned over the engine.

“Hold on,” he rushed.
I held on.

CALEB

MY father always said I would know when the right woman came along. He was such a wise man. When it happened, I didn’t even question it because the process was so effortless. I just fell into her . . . because my heart knew her right away.

Knew she was the one for me.

I’d known her for years actually. She came to Blackstone Island to live with her grandmother after her parents were killed in a car crash. A devastated fifteen-year-old trying to adapt to a new life in a new place, trying to find where she fit in to a world so different from where she’d come—a forty-square-mile resort island off the Massachusetts coast where her grandmother ran the household at Blackwater, the family ancestral home.

Should have known of her, that is.

Our paths didn’t cross that I am aware of, but it’s possible. I rarely visited the island in those days because I was a twenty-three-year-old junior executive fresh out of Harvard Business School, learning everything I could about the family business. I traveled the world, enjoying the excitement of international boardroom deals by day and socializing at off-hours business affairs by night. I worked hard at both. Affairs, liaisons, one-night stands had all come and gone without a backward glance. Nameless faces and unremarkable encounters filled my nights whenever I wanted them to. The hopping nightlife of the big cities with even bigger players vying for a piece of the pie became my normal. I embraced every aspect that came with the lifestyle. Wealth, sexual favors, a certain celebrity born out of my name, all collected with barely any effort. For the next eight years, I had the world in the palm of my hand as I went about amassing a personal fortune in addition to increasing the family coffers.

Or so I thought.

I didn’t yet know what was missing from my life. Until her. And then, when I realized exactly who she was, and how fate had gotten the last laugh on me, it was already far too late. She’d bewitched me utterly. And furthermore, I knew she had no idea who I was or what ties connected us.

Maybe that’s what made her so intoxicating?

I didn’t know and I didn’t care because it made absolutely no difference to me. I wanted her with a primal desire I could barely understand, yet I embraced that desire wholeheartedly because I was incapable of doing anything else with it. How could I not? She had enchanted me.

However, once my brain managed to catch up, it wasn’t quite so effortless to accept this new and unfamiliar reality of feeling something for a woman beyond the unquestioning curiosity of when and if we might fuck.

I struggled against the idea of her at first for a few reasons. She was too young. My mother would never approve of us together. Others in my world would probably chew her up and spit her out, destroying her sweetness. But I soon found out my heart didn’t give a flying fuck about any of those reasons. The heart wants what it wants, and I’d discovered that for my heart, “want” was all wrapped up in the package that was Brooke Ellen Casterley.

The death of my father from the evils of cancer was an eye-opener for my siblings and me. Money can buy a lot of things, but it can’t stop the grim reaper from calling on you if it’s your time to go. Death was called the great equalizer. And it truly was. Wealth is a trivial thing when it’s only extra fuckin’ zeros on a balance sheet that makes any difference between lives lived. Doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor when you die, because none of it counts at the end. You leave this life the same way you come into it. You go out alone and take nothing. “There has to be more to life than making money, son,” he told me at the end. He took hold of my hand and squeezed as hard as his frail strength could manage so as to make me understand the importance. He had regrets and wanted to share with me what he’d learned to prevent me from making the same mistakes. I understood him clearly.

The most essential value my father tried to teach me along with my brothers and sisters was the idea of family. Family took precedence over money. “Take care of the family first and the wealth will grow, Caleb,” he said.

A strong family moving forward was the only thing that truly meant anything at the end of the day.

The Blackstones had been here on the island since the days when the Mayflower made its treacherous journey to the untamed American shores. As the eldest son it was my duty to make sure the Blackstones would still be here a hundred years from now.

My plan to fulfill my duty included her. It wouldn’t work any other way for me. I knew it the first time I ever felt the heat of her eyes as they burned me from across the room.

I knew it down in my bones.

I was going to marry that lovely, beautiful girl from England, and she would be mine.

Riding Through by Dani Wyatt – 5 Stars

I love Dani Wyatt’s books, but this little treat stole my heart! Even though it’s a shorter read, we get all the goodness and development of a full length novel, since it has all these wonderful elements that draw and enrapture us into the couples story!

Reed is, so far, and without a shadow of a doubt my favorite of Dani’s delicious heroes! Totally swoon-worthy (thought after thought of pure gold), alpha and with a priceless heart! Oh, Reed… <3

Ps. This ones I’ve read the ones I had acknowledge beforehand that are the completely safe ones of the bundle, but there’s plenty there for all tastes, and I’m sure equally as brilliant!!!!

YAY! Isaac and Eden’s Story!!! My wishes were heard, because after Brief me, Baby I could wait to read their story and here it is!

And so much more than I was waiting for, because Eden being an hacker, and that being how they met, I was so NOT expecting, from that glimpse it was given in that book. But this fact added so much to the character and was the very foundation of this delicious novella. Eden portrayed the over energized hacker to a T! And Isaac was her perfect contra balance! And with him, for the first time in her life, her restlessness slowed down, and her wild ways found a more grounded solution.

“I had Isaac, and the high I got from being with him was even better than I felt any time I wormed my way into a dirty corporation’s system.”

Of course that didn’t stop her from wanting to fight for justice, and when the disappointment over their failed attempts to get pregnant threatened to sink itself and take over, she decided to direct her attention to equally important matter, helping Isaac defend and prove the innocence of man accused of murdering the love of his life. Obviously the only person that was not happy with this arrangement was Isaac himself, because everything that could represent a risk for Eden’s life was a problem on itself. She truly was everything that matter to him…

“You’re the most important person in my world, and I’m not willing to risk your safety for anyone or anything. Understood?”

But even with all the fears, and risks, the true adventure beginning, and for such a short novella, it really satisfies the suspense and mystery craving, but always in with plenty of panty melting sex scenes and incredible chemistry. And Isaac, who at first seemed to be quite the straight laced ‘suit’, really revealed us his inner caveman and dirty talker, where Eden was concerned! And she was just as sassy! Loved that!

“If you want me to do as I’m told, maybe you should,”

It really was a great short and steamy read, with some incredible sweet moments that melted our hearts. Insta-love and married couple trope at it’s best! In For You, I Will, Fiona Davenport gives us all we are used to from them, and after this delicious treat I can’t wait to see what these ladies brings us next! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

The far off sound of voices floated into the room and Eden sprang up, shoving me away with surprising force. Once she was standing, she looked down at herself in horror, just then realizing I’d ruined her shirt and there was no way to fix it.

“Isaac! What the fuck? I can’t leave here like this. Not unless you want the world to get a nice look at my goods!”

I growled and yanked her body up against mine. “First of all, you’re going to get yourself a spanking if you don’t watch your mouth, and second”—I leaned down until my face was only centimeters from hers—“no one sees what’s mine.”

Her eyes narrowed as she glowered at me. “What exactly am I supposed to do? And put that thing away!” she snapped. My dick was clearly appreciative of the look and feel of her naked tits pressed against my chest. Despite the mind-blowing orgasm I’d just had, he was up and ready for another round.

The voices drew closer so I stepped back, tucked myself back in, and snatched up my suit coat. I held it open for her to slip her arms inside and it engulfed her. She looked so damn cute.

“That’s a good look on you, Eden.” Jax’s laughing voice came from the doorway and we both spun to face him. Eden’s face was bright red and she shrank down into the coat like a turtle trying to hide in its shell.

“I just came to see if you wanted to grab some lunch,” he explained, leaning casually against the doorjamb. His eyes glittering with mischief, he gestured to something behind me. “Looks like you’ve already eaten.”

Eden shrieked, and I glanced back to see her scrambling to her discarded underwear. She snatched them up and shoved them in her pocket before turning blue death-rays on me.
