RELEASE BLITZ + REVIEW: CHUTE YEAH (Valentine Boys #3) by Lani Lynn Vale

CHUTE YEAH

Series: Valentine Boys #3

Author: Lani Lynn Vale

Genre: Contemporary/Cowboy Romance

Release Date: March 24th, 2020

Synopsis

Candy Ray Sunshine—Yes, that is my real name, thank you very much, Mom and Dad—knew two things.

One, she was going to work her butt off and open her very own coffee shop, even if she had to die doing it.

Two, Banks Valentine was the world’s worst ex-boyfriend in the history of ex-boyfriends. Even if they were only boyfriend and girlfriend for one evening. She wouldn’t sneeze on him even if he was on fire.

***

Banks Valentine also knew two things.

One, he was an immature jerk when he was in high school, and Candy Ray Sunshine probably could open a coffee shop if she put her mind to it. But he still thinks that she should shoot a little higher, anything that gets her the heck out of Kilgore, Texas.

Two, he likes riding bulls. It’s a dangerous job, and when he gets on the back of one of those thousand-pound death machines, he can finally feel his head clear enough that he can think.

***

Candy and Banks would never get along. Not after what he said, and definitely not after what she did.

Then again, neither one of them expected that night to end the way it did, either—the night that both of them refused to talk about the next morning.

3.5 ‘ I Squeeze You’ Stars

Hot Damn… These Valentine Boys, or should I say Banks and Candy, sure put me through the wringer! Every single possible emotion, Chute Yeah guaranteed ALL of them!

I did not expect this book to put me to tears and break my heart for Candy immediately in the first few chapters! It really wrecked me…

God, I really needed to get it together.
But, the problem was, I didn’t ever have it together when it came to Banks Valentine.

After reading the second book, I knew we were headed for quite a journey with these two, but I was beyond shocked when the heartbreaking scene and its consequences happens, and it was not at all like I anticipated. And it is regarding that initial scene and how it’s not only kind brushed over  in the present, but specially Banks’ intentional role in the matter that  my only issues with their story happened. For me, sure, Banks was not the one that cause it to happen, but it were is actions that in a way led to it, so I was kind of disappointed that Candy just so easily forgot and forgave so fast – yes, I know it’s been years, but they are just now in contact with one another, so in this timeline, it was fast for me – while I never truly forgot why she was in that situation, specially the what if. We can’t change the past, sure, but I wanted him to truly feel the impact of his actions – tho he was living is own nightmare too, I know, but know that he knows what happened he should have groveled more, imo.

“Because life doesn’t work that way, Banks,” she said. “I’m broken. Nobody wants the broken things.”
I begged to differ.
I wanted the broken things.
I wanted her.

And apart from a couple of initial references to it, although I much like that it’s not focused on what happened in the past – I just felt it was kind of made light of something that would still mark her to this day, so I don’t know if it’s because of the easiness she just let go and brushed it aside, but I just felt unsatisfied for her, in this.

That being said, only Lani Lynn Vale could make me end up with such happiness for a couple when at the start my heart was bleeding and my belly hurting for Candy, while wanting to nut punch Banks, lol. After the past was let go, which as I said was quite early on, we get the full splendor of the LLV effect. Pure literary delight!!!

Candy Ray Sunshine would finally be mine.

I wanted it all.
With her.

Candy and Banks, once they let the past go, were such an amazing couple together. The banter, the chemistry, and the love, was incredibly to witness and I couldn’t get enough! Sure, I once again could have gone without the ‘have loved you since we were kids/always loved you’, but we all know how that is one of MY personal peeves, specially considering how things unroll in the past – yes, I know Banks was just a stupid kid as he said, but still, those words just made my eye twitch hard, lol – but I could have gone without these type of declarations. What makes it better for me here is that even considering what happened, she wasn’t exactly pining for him either, so I was happier about the whole thing.

And once she gave the go and clear the air, seeing Banks’ joy at finally being able to express his feelings and making her HIS, wow, damn… He sure is one HOT cowboy! Kind, gentle, attentive, but still all Alpha and devoted to her and her feelings, the man sure turned into an amazing romance hero.  Candy was a kickass, take no crap kind of woman, and I LOVED it!

This couple was SCORCHING together, oh boy, were they ever! The steam level in their sexy times is off the charts!

Another HUGE highlight for me, not only in this book, but in every single one of this series, is the true, deep, unbreakable bound of the Valentine family. They love each other so genuinely and so intensely, that it’s impossible not to fall for these men. They are so true to themselves, and the way they love and care for their own, is sure to bring the coldest of hearts warmth. So swoon worthies!!!

“You make it incredibly hard to be good,” he said gruffly.
The problem was, I didn’t want him to be good.
I wanted him to be bad.
I wanted to be bad with him.

I’ve said it many times before, and guess I’ll say it many times again, Lani Lynn Vale is a romance mastermind! Only her can pick up a subject that normally would put me off, and still make me enjoy the hell out of not only the story, but also root for the couple, and be so beyond happy for they achievements, and their HEA. Chute Yeah is the proof of exactly that. All the possible feels in a crescendo that wraps up in the most heart warming and HAPPY of emotions. Addictive writing is too lesser of a descriptions, I can not get enough! Specially after that sneak peek at Darby’s book, I can’t wait to see what Ms. Vale will bring us on the last of this epic family of cowboys… I NEED IT NOW!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

“I squeeze you, Banks,” I told him. “If it’s my choice, I’m going to always choose you.”

“And I squeeze you, too.”

“You’re worth the wait, though,” he told me seconds later. “Always have been, always will be.”

Synopsis

Princess Eleanor has had it up to her royal eyeballs.  She’s surrounded by suitable men, each more rude and obnoxious than the last. None of them are worthy of her heart—not to mention her virginity. So what’s a girl to do? Flee to Montana to stay with her brother, lay low, and avoid both the media and the men, that’s what.

Liam Cunningham is the head of security in Montana for the royal family. For a man who has seen the worst of human nature in the Army, being in Cunningham Falls is a balm to his tattered soul.

Princess Eleanor, on the other hand, is a royal pain in the butt. She’s proven in the past that she’s a troublemaker. She’s also beautiful, smart, and everything good in life that he doesn’t deserve.

But when Ellie proposes the idea of Liam being her sex coach, how can he resist?

4 ‘All Of Me’ Stars

What a charming, sweet and sexy read! Enticing Liam truly entices us to such a feel good, happy place. Who doesn’t love a good bodyguard/secret romance story?! Liam and Ellie’s story fit that to a T, with some added royal sparkle. Absolutely tantalizing!

This Big Sky Royals – actually all the Big Sky books – have such a heart warming vibe, even when we are considering royals as main characters, that is impossible not to be completely charmed by this ‘world’ and its people. Liam and Eleanor proves exactly that.

“You’re everything wonderful in this world that I don’t deserve. And I’ll be damned if I can bring myself to let you go.”

“That’s my line.”
“You keep me safe all day. I can protect you from this. Trust me.”

“Here I am. All of me. And the only reason I can do this is because I trust you. Not just with my safety, but also with me. All of me.”

Being from completely different life backgrounds, Eleanor and Liam, the Montana chief of security, have tried to ignore their attraction since that very first meeting one year ago, but now with Ellie back to stay for a long period of time, to get away from everything, and Liam being ‘forced’ to take on as her bodyguard, there is no way to deny that chemistry any longer. Specially when one druken night Ellie makes a revelation and a proposal that as much as Liam forces himself to deny, he just can’t stay away from his princess. It was impossible to ignore this level of yearning, after all! 😉

“Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” He nibbles on my shoulder, pushing the strap of my tank out of his way. “And I’m going to do you very well.”

“You smell fucking amazing,” I whisper.
 “What do I smell like?”
“Mine.” I kiss her chin. “You smell like mine, Eleanor.”

Kristen Proby once again rocked the ‘behind the crown’ world. I’m a sucker for this combination of royalty  with small town romance. Add to it the secret romance, bodyguard/princess combo and I was beyond thrilled for this book and it sure lived up to all my expectation! Both Liam and Ellie proved to be endearing, and complex characters, and of course the ever-present KP stamp of REAL and relatable characters – specially difficult when talking about royals, but yep, she does it like no other! – charming settings and incredible friendships and side characters, evidently Enticing Liam had to be a success for me. Perfect measure of sweet, sexy, emotional and funny! And oh man, as much as I want to nut punch Callum, I so want to see Aspen put him in his place, so I’m simultaneously scared and excited for their own tale!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I love you more than anything or anyone I’ve loved in my life. You’re the reason I breathe.

RELEASE BLITZ + REVIEW: MAYBE SWEARING WILL HELP ( SWAT Generation 2.0 #3) by Lani Lynn Vale

MAYBE SWEARING WILL HELP

Series: SWAT Generation 2.0 #3

Author: Lani Lynn Vale

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release Date: March 10th, 2020

Synopsis

Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies.

He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs.

Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for.

Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful.

She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either.

That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon.

***

Ashe never thought he’d agree.

Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it.

She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door.

When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair.

Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to.

When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree.

What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.

3.75 ‘Love To Hate’ Stars

Oh boy, talk about fighting like cats and dogs!!! Ford and Ashe are the definition of mortal enemies since childhood, and now all that banter and friction exploded into the most intense of romances! OMG, the banter was just so SPOT ON!!!

These SWAT 2.0’s are as delicious as they covers point too, and Mr. March’s story was no exception, I enjoyed the heck out of it, who knew that this deep seated childhood nemesis could turn into a love this bright, when they barely managed to not strangle each other on every encounter?! LOL

I was a senior this year and should be living it up.
Yet, every fucking time I turned the corner, there was Soot, making my life a living hell.

Their back and forth was indeed the highlight of the book for me. Well, that and the scorching hot sexual tension in the air at every of those clashes! The saying that it is a ‘fine line between love and hate’ couldn’t be more suited for these two. Their banter and then their unleashed desire from the very first time they gave in… WOW, just wow…

That was right. What we were doing wasn’t anything. It meant nothing. It felt like… everything.

Ashe and I didn’t work.
We fought like cats and dogs.
We were attracted to each other.
But attraction couldn’t carry a relationship.

If I was so into their banter and their chemistry, why not rate it higher you may ask, well, one thing, a PERSONAL peeve of mine, but I just dislike that Ashe was an inexperienced virgin – no matter the crazy justifications here, because hello, Ford had the solution at hand their very first time, lol, so why not use that solution with other men – and Ford was anything but. Not only that, but she had a front row seat to all his past, and even though they were enemies and weren’t exactly pining for each other – sorry but the virginity kind of discredited a that bit for me – Ford does say more than once that deep down he had loved her since then. If you know me, you know that is one of my peeves too, because come on,I’m all for the enemies to lovers, but don’t bring the ‘loved you forever’ to the mix when you clearly weren’t in love with each other when you hurt the other by rubbing others in theirs faces. Again I’ll say, it’s MY peeve her, but that declaration just makes my eye twitch every time it pops up when the actions prove the opposite. And the Linnet thing in the present?! I’ll not reveal so not to spoil, but I so wanted to nut punch Ford for that! Okay, mini rant over, because like I said, I sooooo loved their relationship, and they antics were AWESOME, so much so I have no doubt this would have been another five stars for me, and one of my LLV’s fav, if not for those two issues.

I couldn’t stop myself from loving her.
It was just impossible.
We may fight constantly like cats and dogs, but these feelings were something we’d been fighting since we were children.

Lani Lynn Vale is truly one of the most gifted authors I’ve ever read, and no wonder my addiction to her words is a ever present need in my heart. Only LLV could make me devour and love a couple, even with the small personal issues it nagged me about them. All the secondary characters that I’m dying to hear more about, the strong presence of all the parents – OMG, Trance and Viddy and Tru and Torren!!! – the LLV OG characters, and so much potential for future books and series, just leaves me giddy with excitement every. Single. Time.  And now after watching the silent and broody Hayes, I can not wait for next Month. Bet Mr. April will be as epic as they come! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“You’re mine, Ashe,” I told her bluntly. “You’re mine, and I’m yours.

“Turns out, we love each other.” Ford shrugged. “Hate is there sometimes, too. But mostly love.”

4.25 ‘ Sporty’ Stars

This Anthology is just as delicious as expected: smoking hot jocks, sassy and strong female leads and oh sweet, funny and SEXY love stories! These novellas hit just the right spot of our sports romance lover’s heart! <3 <3 <3 <3

5 ‘Bodyguard’ Stars for BODY HEAT by Rochelle Paige

I have now a new Rochelle Paige FAV – second only to her emotional Fortuity Duet! Sera and Rowan are now one of my all time fav couples and on my list of OTP favorites!

I love Ms. Paige’s writing, so it should come as no surprise that I was hooked on this little story from the very first line, but I did not expect this level of emersion, I DEVOURED in a instant and swoon and sigh with love for this couple! A reversed gender version of the movie Bodyguard, Body Heat proved just how kickass a female lead can be and still have and scorching hot love story where the H is still all ALPHA, and straight to my best book boyfriend with his undying unwavering devotion to Sera and the ones he loves! Rowan was my epitome of Romance Hero! Hope I get to see even more of these two in the rest of the Body and Soul series! Sporty Novella perfection! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

3.5 ‘Second Half’ for END GOAL by Ella Fox

I adore Ella Fox’s writing, so I was thrilled to get a brand new novella with new characters from her. Well, End Goal was undoubtably a deliciously speedy read! Addison and Law have a very trouble past together, with him being her teenager crush and one night he wrecking her trust. Though this is a trouble I personally tend to stay away from, due to my dislike of unrequited, but not really love, here what ended up detracting from my enjoying was that due to the short length of the story, their interaction and reunion – in the best of context, because BABIES! – with his newly adopted children and Addison as their nanny, ended taking second place, naturally, to his new parenthood of twins, and their makeshift new family, and their past being brushed off far two easily, considering how BIG his screw up was, and with basically no groveling on his  end, as well as many answered, or unclear questions. I believe with the extended length, which I’m hoping Ms. Fox will give us, because after that abrupt ending – yes, another issue this epilogue lover had, lol – I believe and am hopeful we will get much more on these two. Ok, on these four! The story telling was as awesome as ever, the sexy time and sexual tension were OFF THE CHARTS, sadly I was just left wanting more, so I’m praying we will get that in the future, preferably asap! LOL <3 <3 <3

Synopsis

Falling in love is easy…

New Hope, South Carolina is my home. It’s where I grew up, got into trouble, and fell in love for the first time. Scarlett Kincaid was more than the girl next door, she was my best friend, until she decided that small town life wasn’t for her. One minute she was here, and the next she was gone.

The girl I used to fish with down at the creek is now the biggest name in country music. She headlines world tours, has won four Grammys, and I haven’t seen her since. Until today when she sped through town in her fancy car. One look at her big brown eyes was all it took to stir up a whole slew of emotions. Emotions I’d long ago buried and sure as hell don’t have time for.

It’s the aftermath that’s hard…

There are two things in my life that matter. My music, and my dad. Twelve years ago, I packed a bag and chased my dream. Leaving New Hope and escaping the gossip mill was the easiest decision I ever made. I never planned to return, but my father needs me, and he always comes first. So, I did what I had to do. I cut my tour short and came home, despite having a sister who hates me, and a community that doesn’t trust me. And then there’s Tucker Andrews.

When he propped an arm on the roof of my car, pulled down his sunglasses and flashed his police badge, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Gone is the lanky boy who used to throw rocks at me and pull my pigtails. Tucker is now a six-foot package of brawny, sexy man wrapped in more muscle than I have hit singles. Did I mention he’s a cop and a single dad?

My goal was to help Dad, and get back to my life. But what am I supposed to do when the life that used to strangle me suddenly fits like a glove, and makes me dream of things I never thought I’d have? What happens when the boy I walked away from years ago becomes one of the most important people in my life? I don’t have room for a man much less love.

Right?

Because it’s impossible to hold onto someone who’s already gone.

Excerpt

New Hope, South Carolina.

Population 6,129.

I know every soul represented in that number. Not a single one of them drives the shiny red Mercedes that just went speeding by.

Seventy-five in a forty-five.

I flick on my lights and press on the gas, sending my cruiser flying past the city limit sign and the godawful billboard that sits directly behind it; the one declaring New Hope home to country music superstar, Scarlett Kincaid.

It wouldn’t be a big deal if this were actually her home. It’s not. Scarlett may have been born here, but her fancy boots haven’t landed on this soil in over a decade.

All it took was one call from a hotshot music executive to send her packing before the ink was dry on her high school diploma. Scarlett flew from this town fast enough to leave our heads spinning. Before any of us could process what had happened, little Scarlett Kincaid—the same girl who used to build forts with me in my living room while my mama made us mac ‘n’ cheese—had a hit single sitting at number one on the Billboard charts.

She went from homecoming queen and most likely to marry a rich spouse in our senior yearbook, to the queen of country music.

The country loves her. Hell, the whole world loves her.

New Hope…not so much. And it’s high time that fucking sign comes down.

But first, I have to deal with this speed demon in the sexy red car.

I sound the sirens, and the car pulls to the side of the road and waits while I walk to the driver’s side window. It’s still up, the heavy tint preventing me from seeing inside. With a hand on my holster—because you never know what you’re going to walk up on—I knock on the window.

The dark glass lowers.

My first thought: this woman is absolutely gorgeous. Long, dark hair. Pouty lips. And a tiny pink dress. Her eyes are covered by oversized aviators, but I’m sure they’re as pretty as the rest of her.

My second thought: what crazy excuse is she going to come up with to try and get out of this ticket? It never ceases to amaze me the things women are willing to do to keep from getting into trouble. I’ve been offered everything from a blowjob to a pay-off to marriage.

“Do you know why I pulled you over today, ma’am?”

“Tucker?” The woman smiles, then pushes her sunglasses to the top of her head. And that’s when I see the brown eyes I’ve spent more than a decade trying to forget. “Tucker Andrews, is that you?”

I step back and square my shoulders. “You can call me Officer Andrews. Do you know why I pulled you over today, ma’am?”

“Tucker.” The woman laughs and shakes her head. “It’s me, Scarlett.”

At the mention of her name, I’m met with an onslaught of flashbacks. Running hand and hand through the neighborhood with her, laughing and playing, only to have her ignore me the second we got to school. The popular crowd versus the nerds who desperately tried to fit in. She the former, me the latter, and the pain it caused every time she acted as though she didn’t know my name. For years, I pretended it didn’t bother me because I knew that when I got home, Scarlett would meet me at the fence, and the awkwardness from the day would dissipate as though it never happened.

But it did. Day after day after day. I was a glutton for punishment. There was nothing in the world I loved more than Scarlett Kincaid, and it didn’t matter how badly she hurt me, I was always willing to forgive her.

Her smile and laugh might’ve gotten to me in middle school and high school, but I refuse to let it affect me now.

“I know who you are.”

Her smile falters.

4 ‘You’re In My Heart’ Stars

Kristen Proby and KL Grayson rocked it! This take on the female lead being the famous one and the combo and feel of small town romance, single dad theme SO did it for me! Refreshing and unique in the best ways, sexy, sweet with just enough angst to grip our hearts and warm our spirit. Talk about successful collaborations!

Awww, friends to lovers is always a tricky trope for me, but in Already Gone it totally worked. The long separation and passage between teenagers to adult that allowed the shift in their dynamics to occurred, couldn’t have been better crafted, imo.

After twelve years of being gone from home – where she never truly felt home – Scarlett, now a mega country star, is forced to return to help her dad, what she never expect was her cold reception by her town’s people, and specially her ‘secret’ childhood best friend, Tucker, whom she had left being in the past, with no contact.

“What did I do to piss you off?”
“Sweetheart, that list is so long, we’d never get through it.”

He smells like soap, and he makes me yearn for things I never knew I wanted.

Of course she now needs to prove to all how she isn’t as self centered as everyone thinks her to be. And I have to say this was the one point that kind of aggravated me, was her personality, which sometimes, not always really irritated me, lol. That being said we could feel her effort to show her true depth, and slowly we witnessed her blossom and expose her sweet and caring nature. I could feel her deep love for those around her, it just took them a bit to trust it.

Tucker, apart from a self assumed poor choice in the selection of bed partner in the past – I actually didn’t see much point in the connection of the identity of Chloe’s mom and Scarlett, but considering she was a no show, didn’t affect my judgement of him. I adore a good single dad romance, and Tucker, was a spectacular daddy to his little girl!

Not only that, but we could feel how his teen crush turned slowly into mature love, and how vulnerable he felt in his emotions where Scar was concerned. Once they got together though, it was a joy to see the family  (whole of it) dynamic. And their connection, and attraction… Oh boy, it was SCORCHING!!!

I don’t know what’s going to happen between us, but I know that this—whatever this is—feels right.

My dreams were nothing compared to the reality of having her in my arms.

He’s home for me. He always has been.

Scarlett and Tucker’s love story was not only gripping, but as per usual with these authors, we are left feeling such a deep satisfaction and happy warm feeling of coming home. And that Epilogue was just perfection!

Already Gone combined all the enticing elements for fantastic love story, and Ms. Proby and Ms. Grayson more than delivered! Sweet and sexy with the perfect amount of emotional conflict to hook us not only to these two, but all the intriguing secondary characters. So much so that I am now begging them to turn this amazing world into a series, and give us Dean and Scooter’s stories!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

“I love you so much I ache with it,” he whispers as if each word is painful to admit. “And I’m afraid you’ll destroy me before all is said and done.”

When I tell you I love you, I mean it. You’re in my heart, and I have no plans of that changing. Ever.”

SINK OR SWIM

Series:  Beach Kingdom #3

Author: Tessa Bailey

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: August 20th, 2019

Synopsis

Andrew Prince wakes up before everyone else. He schedules the bar shifts, demands perfection from Long Beach’s lifeguards—most of all himself—and makes sure the family debts are paid. His unfaltering worth ethic might leave him exhausted, but it comes with one advantage. It distracts him from the love he’s been harboring since childhood for the girl next door—who he cannot have.

Jiya Dalal has dreams. To fly a plane, see the world below…and prove irresistible to her best friend, Andrew. But she needs to be a good daughter first, which is becoming an increasingly difficult task, since her parents expect a good marriage and the man she loves with all her heart refuses to pursue the blistering connection between them. Just when she’s beginning to believe Andrew truly doesn’t want her, a moonlight tryst on the beach exposes his true feelings. But an echo from the past kept them apart before…and it’s only growing louder with every stolen kiss…

4 ‘ Ask Me The Question’ Stars

Gahhh, the angst… The believed to be unrequited love… The inner battle between full on ALPHA and the tortured self deprecating male… And most of all the omnipresent, full body and mind scorching, SEXUAL TENSION!!! Sink or Swim is without a doubt an emotional and sexiness overload!!!

This book was one of my most anticipated this year, as Beach Kingdom is without a doubt one of my all time fav series. And these two sure put me through the ringer! The angst and sexual pull between Andrew and Jiya about killed me.

“You’re worth it, Andrew.”
And in that moment, Andrew Prince knew he’d love Jiya Dalal for the rest of his life.

He would only ever be with Jiya, the object of his admiration, affection and lust, within the walls of his own brain.

Andrew and Jiya are indeed the personification of best friends to lovers trope, with how much they adored each other and their growing love ever since they were little kids. Believing to be suffering from unrequited love none of them took a step in that direction, first by pure fear, reservation and then, after a terror happens, in Andrew’s eyes, it was too late, because he would never pull his most precious person, his forever love, to the dark hole he was living. No, not leaving, surviving… And the only thing truly tethering him to the ground was her. Jyia.

I hurt so much for Andrew, being in his mind we could FEEL the helplessness, the desperation, craving and LOVE, so much love and devotion he had for Jiya since their childhood. Something akin of worship, it’s a better description. And for that, his sexual past made no sense for me, and it’s the very reason for which I couldn’t give the full five stars even though I loved this couple. Even if for a short duration and shallow, and even taking into account what led to it, Andrew’s deep seated love and obsession for Jiya would never even consider that – I was kind of blind sided on it, tbh, because it is not something I’m used to from my beloved Tessa Bailey’s heroes once they ‘focus’ on his one – so I felt it completely out of character, even with his ‘explanation’ and the very long devotion after. Specially considering he was the one that NEVER tried taking a step in the direction of more, when he had many years before the event that changed everything along with the chance to ever being with ‘his girl’ in his mind. After that I can understand his fear and helplessness devastation, but he had almost two decades before it to man up, damn it. LOL. So this bit of the past revelation was an character inconsistency to me, because this man was WELL of swoon worthy silent declarations!

The girl was every man’s dream come true. She had been his since moving to Long Beach from India when she was nine, trading the western state of Gujarat for their busy beach town.

Nonetheless, minus that mistep, Andrew character was so rich and emotional it’s impossible not to feel for him. And Jiya… How that girl put us in her corner! So strong but yet unsure, such dreamer, but yet so family devoted, she was a dichotomy between family ‘duty’ and personal dreams, and when she decided enough, I cheered for her!
I would have loved a bit more true couple time after the push and pull came to fruition, but yeah, am a self assumed greedy reader. But worry not because even within the emotional angst and battle, there are plenty of naughty and ‘off the charts’ HOT moments with a lot of dirty talk going on, it is a Tessa Bailey’s after all! 😉

The girl that held his pulpy, bloody heart in her hands.

He needed this girl in the most basic, vital, urgent way.

I can’t believe my beloved Beach Kingdom is coming to an end *sniff*, and wish there was many more characters so we could get even more glimpses of this gang in the future. Ms. Bailey wrapped up this emotional, heart touching and panty melting story love story with a beautiful Epilogue that no doubt satisfies us HEA lovers, but I still wanted more and more of these guys – like I said, greedy reader here – and every so much interaction with Rory and Olive, Jamie and Marcus in this book, and they are indeed very present here, I’m beyond sad to say goodbye to them all, truly bittersweet even with this amazing closure. Can’t wait to see what romantic deliciousness Tessa Bailey will give us next! <3 <3 <3 <3

She wanted more. She wanted what he’d threatened. His soul. After all, he already had hers.

“I love you more than life. I don’t remember a second that wasn’t filled with love and more love and need for you.”

Excerpt

Jiya looked up and found Andrew watching her intently. “What is this, Andrew?”

“We’re dancing,” he rasped, his gaze slightly unfocused.

“You’ve never danced with me like this before.”

His gaze strayed to her lips, before he resolutely dragged them away. “Do you want to stop?”

“No and that’s the problem.” Come on, Mrs. I Don’t Play Games Anymore, bring up the elephant in the room. It’s not going away. “You’ve been different with me lately. Is it…” She took two bracing breaths. “Is it because I’m dating?”

He started to deny it, then changed his mind. “Might be. Yeah. I know that’s fucked up,” he said. “You’ve always been min—my best friend. We won’t have this if you start dating someone seriously. If you…”

“Get married?”
His complexion turned gray. “Mmm.”
Cement caked her insides, but she was used to it by now. She’d loved Andrew since she was a child. She’d waited patiently for him to love her back—as more than a friend—and he hadn’t. He’d done nothing about it. So while she yearned to dissect his every word and rejoice in them, ached for what he was feeling, she couldn’t do it anymore without being a fool. “Ask me the question, Andrew. The one you ask me every night.”

A line formed between his brows. “Can I do anything for you, Jiya?”

“Yes.” She took his face in her hands. “You can stay my friend. No matter what happens. Fine, things are changing in my life. But I couldn’t bear it if I ever lost what we have. Just stay my friend. Promise me.”

His jaw bunched. “You know I’d cut my heart out before saying no to you, right?”

“Yes.”

“Then you have your answer.” He wet his lips. “But we’re finishing the dance.”

Synopsis

Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town, but she picked balloons instead of blueprints and they haven’t taken her seriously since. Frankly, she’s over it. Georgie loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh, just not at her own expense. She’s determined to fix herself up into a Woman of the World… whatever that means.

Phase one: new framework for her business (a website from this decade, perhaps?)

Phase two: a gut-reno on her wardrobe (fyi, leggings are pants.)

Phase three: updates to her exterior (do people still wax?)

Phase four: put herself on the market (and stop crushing on Travis Ford!)

Living her best life means facing the truth: Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite?

Travis Ford was major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days. But he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his… bat. And then there’s Georgie, his best friend’s sister, who is not a kid anymore. When she proposes a wild scheme—that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job—he agrees. What’s the harm? It’s not like it’s real. But the girl Travis used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman and there’s nothing fake about how much he wants her…

4 ‘The girl who loved me, even when I couldn’t love myself’ Stars

HOT DAMN!!! Tessa Bailey’s masterful writing strikes again in Fix Her Up! And what a perfect name for the series, because this book left plenty of HOT – still fanning myself, it is a #QueenOfDirtyTalking original, after all – AND hammered, to all these characters!

Everything about this book since it was announced it had been appealing to me, so much so that I couldn’t wait to read it, and considering my general wariness of the best friends’ little sister trope, that is saying a lot, but giving Ms. Bailey’s addictive prose, the additional fake relationship theme and a female main character I that I could see in advance I would love, I just had to jump right in!

“I see you,” he rasped. “Dammit, Georgie. You had to be exactly what I need, didn’t you?”

Had anyone ever kissed him with so much trust? No. No one kissed or exposed themselves like her, honest and unrestrained. No one had ever pulled him in so deeply.

And dive right in I did, to the point that I couldn’t put it down. Even with some pet peeve in the mix, at start, I just couldn’t stop reading it! Yep, Fixe Her Up was just as deliciously addictive as I expected! And Georgie… Can you all say ‘GIRL CRUSH’?! <3

Might as well admit it. She could turn him on in a goddamn clown suit. As if that wasn’t enough to scare him, since being reintroduced to Georgie the adult, he’d run the gamut of feeling protective, possessive, and straight-up missing her.

He had the urge to confide in her. Wanted to hand her a piece of himself, because he knew she would take care of it.

Now, before my raving starts – and there will be plenty of it! – , and considering this issue was mainly at the start of the book, it’s best if I pull the cat out of the mad on what bothered me in Travis and Georgie’s story. Because with how much I enjoyed this book, I have to confess Fix Her Up was one tough nut to crack for me, rating and reviewing wise, hence why I seated a couple of days in posting it, because like I said above, I tend to generally not be a fan of the trope best friends’ little sister, but the scenario that really ends up putting me off, and it was the case here is, being one of my PERSONAL pet peeves, is that exact setting in addition to the über manwhore/virgin, so here I have to indeed confess I was kind of blindsided by that fact. First because that secondary trope is not at all what I’m used to by Ms. Bailey, no matter the age, the setting or even the circumstances, one thing was always constant in her spectacular writing, and it’s one of the things that have me so addicted to her male characters, I have no doubt, how much they are smitten, changed and devoted after meeting their ‘one’, even if they don’t acknowledge it at first. So I did not expect at all so, so many references of Travis endless sexual ventures to be in our – and specially Georgie’s – face, and most of all, for her to be fully aware of those, in detail, and still, never tried to move on. I know, I know, a lot of readers adore this setting, but yours truly is  not one of them, so like I said, it’s all subjective, and if that doesn’t bother you – and even if it does – I just reading it all the same, because otherwise you are missing out on a amazing read.

He had her number. She was a giver in all things. Right now, he had to convince her to take. He needed to be the giver. For her. Just . . . her.

“How do you do that? You . . . accept me. Exactly as I am. But you still change me for the better.”

To tell you the truth, the reason for which that single fact impacted more was, never once in the past had he looked at her with more than a little girl, there in a family that was more family for him than his own, but it just made it less believable for me that all of the sudden, she was all he could see and want. The ‘in your face’ uber experienced/manwhore/player coupling with the virgin/completely unexperienced/hung-up really aggravates me… Le sigh… Ok, I digress, but I really had to clear this main thing that truly bothered me, because if not for that I would have given Fix Her Up all the stars! And goddammit, I really wish it wasn’t set like that, because it would have been absolutely perfect, if not for the manwhoring/hung-up virgin thing! LOL

He kissed her like he was . . . taking care of her. Soothing her.

Who wouldn’t look at her like she was a fucking angel? That’s exactly what she was in that moment. Every moment. A being sent straight from the clouds.

That being said, and the second reason why it took me this long to decide, is because if not for all this references from THE PAST, the book in it’s timeline, was so darn exquisite!!! Even Travis, the man himself, was on page absolutely swoon worthy most of the times, every delicious bit of Tessa Bailey’s usual Hs. He was every bit obsessed and devoted, protective and possessive as them, as soon as they met again at the start of the book, which I adored. Broken, but oh so redeemable, clueless to matters of the heart, but ‘take action’ all Alpha when it came to Georgie. And oh boy, was the man SCORCHING HOT!!! That is no surprise, right?!

“That hug you gave me yesterday in your parents’ living room?” His palms skimmed up her thighs, setting off a low tug in her belly. “I’ve been jerking off thinking about it. Jerking off to a hug, Georgie. Your hands need to report for duty.”

Georgie was so completely FANTASTIC!!! I adored everything – ok, minus the complete hung up/ virgin thing, lol – about her. She was everything I love in a female lead: sweet, sassy and a bit snarky, and so devoted to her objectives, passion and family, even considering they downplayed her constantly. She was amazingly rich, complex and so very realistic. Travis was right to snatch her up as soon as he realizes just what treasure he had, because she indeed was precious! Totally Georgie fangirling here.

“What you’ve done for me, baby girl . . . bringing me out of the dark? It’s a miracle. Not a thing. You’re a miracle.”

Tessa Bailey truly rocked this rom-com, and took the genre to WHOLE new level of hotness! Yes, for those of you who are, like myself, die hard Bailey’s fans, Fix Her Up is every bit as steamy as usual TB trademark, as in, volcanic porpotions/shower needed after, HOT!

Fix Her Up, is so much more than the typical rom.com, it runs through a huge spectrum of emotions and shows us a story of healing, of self discovery, redemption, friendship, and most of all,  LOVE! Love in all forms and shapes, familial, self, friend, and romantic. What surprised me the most is that not only you see the journey of healing of the broken man, Travis, but also the amazing introduction of the friendship and complicity and support of the Just Us League (which I want to be part of too!), that allow Georgie to truly blossom, as a person, and as a human! It was INCREDIBLE!!! And speaking of the the other two main members of the Just Us League – which will be the other two books of the series – OMG, way to stun us and intrigue us. I. AM. DYING. HERE. With all that teasing about Rosie and Dom!!! Seriously, I need they story, now! Married Couple trope is one of my all time fav tropes, so believe me when I say, I’ll be stalking Ms. Bailey religiously – more than usual – for Love Her or Lose Her!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

Her heart had created an extra chamber for loving Travis Ford.

“I’ve met her twice in my life. This time, I was smart enough to fall in love with her.”

“I’ll make sure she knows every single day that she’s the air I breathe. That’s a promise.”

3.5 ‘Your Impossible’ Stars

Hot Damn… There is nothing Gentlemanish about these men! Specially not with Officer Flint Stone, that’s for sure! LOL

Lord Have Mercy follows the winning formula of Ms. Vale’s addictive and fast paced writing. Nothing proves that addiction more than the fact that even if containing elements that you don’t care for, you can’t help but devour the book in one sitting. That’s just how talented Lani Lynn Vale is with her words.

That was the case here with Camry and Flint’s story, I love a good enemies to lovers’ tale, and this one fit that to a T, with their delicious BANTER, and APPARENT dislike towards one other, we could practically FEEL the sizzle between these two, it was that massive! The big issue I had with this one, and why I ended up not enjoying as much as I usually do, was that it contained one of my least premises and PERSONAL pet peeves, the H wanting the h from the very first minute and being aware of it, and instead of doing something about it, using OW as sexual replacement while only wanting the h. With that being very clear here and mentioned multiple times and the ow having the role she has all throughout the story, plus the off thought comments about the sexual relation in the first 25% of the story were kind of off putting to me, but again I say, it’s a personal peeve of mine and I have no doubt that most readers won’t have any issue with that, just wish that hadn’t kind of tainted their story for me, because if not for that and being reminded of the ow role in their past and present, these two were FANTASTIC together. And more than that, once they got together, which was very early in the book, they knew they were each other’s last, that they weren’t meant to be, not even a hint of doubt. They were each others’ ONE!

I truly think Lani Lynn Vale must have a super writing power, because with these many releases and keeping up with this deliciously addictive writing style in every single one of her books…WOW! Lord Have Mercy is barely out in the world and I’m already craving her next book, and after the teasing in this one, I’m dying for Croft and Mickey’s book! Arghhh… Need it NOW!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

I know exactly what you’re capable of.”
She smoothed her hand over my cheek. “What’s that?”
“The impossible,” I rasped, my eyes once again closing. “Making me happy.”

That was the day that I truly knew happiness.

3.5 ‘ No longer Invisible’ Stars

A brand new Lani Lynn Vale series, woohooooo!!! Hissy Fit was much more than Ezra and Raleigh’s captivating story, it’s the introduction of SO MANY enticing characters and stories in this new LLV world of Gun Barrel, Texas!

It really was quite a introduction to this new series, the town beloved ‘hero’, ex-player turned coach falling for the town ‘reject’, the shy and clumsy girl that had always had harbored the biggest of crushes towards him, but he never saw, who was always invisible to him. Until one day she wasn’t anymore…

In typical Lani Lynn Vale fashion, the story sucked me in from minute one, and I kept flipping pages and getting lost in this new and enticing new world that is that of The Southern Gentleman. The always fast paced storyline, the funny – more like hilarious, lol – moments, the emotional scenes and the sexy times all were spot on as usual, there was just a couple of elements, personal pet peeves of mine, that I really wish it weren’t has focused upon as they were, mainly Raleigh’s constant and non stop comments and thoughts of just how much she had crushing (more like obsessed it seemed, lol) over Ezra, speaking of him in a God like quality, and how she never even saw another man for her since they were kids. It was just too much, specially considering how invisible she truly was to him – which hurt most and seemed unbelievable considering the small town and her ever presence in his whole life, from school, to college to them working in the same place for the last five years – and how she had to witness him through all these years going through many women, pointing home just how unnoticeable she was UNTIL recently, when she literally crashes into him. Took her time, but she definitely left a forever lasting impression, lol!

Nonetheless, after Ezra FINALLY noticed her, he was all about her, completely smitten, and it’s always amazing to see the tough ones fall. And like always, I devoured this book and absolutely loved the small town and school setting. Raleigh and Ezra’s interactions with their students were in my opinion beautifully portrait, and I can’t wait to see it again with Flint and Camry in Lord Have Mercy. I’ll be counting down the days until next month!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

“I love you, Raleigh,” I told her. “I love you like a quarterback loves the feel of the laces between his fingers. Like a baseball player loves the feel of an old, worn glove that he’s put thousands of hours into. Like the goddamn sun and the moon. You’re it for me. You’ll be my wife one day. You’ll have my kids. You’ll grow old with me and drink sweet tea on our front porch with me. You’ll be mine, and we’ll die within a week of each other because neither one of us will be able to stand to be here without the other.”

Zee + Annmarie and Tan + Jubilee.

Forever. No exceptions.

They were to have the picture-perfect life together. Everything was all planned out.

Jubilee was to marry Eitan and Ezekiel was to marry Annmarie. That’s how it was always supposed to be from the moment that they met. Textbook, right?

Wrong.

Eitan and Annmarie die in a freak accident that never should have happened, leaving the two survivors reeling.

Sixteen years later, Jubilee and Zee can’t even be in the same room with each other before things begin to deteriorate. Too many memories. Too much pain. Not enough forgiveness.

They’re like hellfire and holy water, and neither one of them is willing to admit that they’re wrong.

Then one day things change, and all of a sudden, they’re looking at each other like maybe they aren’t each other’s enemies after all.

3.5 ‘Struck by Lightning’ Stars

Well, Zee and Jubillee’s love story was quite a tumultuous and never boring journey!!! And surprising in so many ways, that I did not see coming, at ALL!

Zee has been one very intriguing – much like a lot of his MC brothers – character, that I’ve been dying to uncover, but I did not expect all this background and his already existing – or should I say prickly, lol – connection with Jubillee, his childhood ‘friend’/nemesis.

If I may say myself, I’m a huge sucker for a good banter and back and forth, and these two really gave us that at the start, and I could totally see that spiraling to something more, specially after an weakened resistance state, lmao. I wish we could have witness that ‘moment’ first hand, instead of after the fact, but that’s just my greedy self talking. What I did not in any way expect, and was put off, to be honest was that after so many years of knowing each other, and witnessing each others life, or better yet, Jubillee seeing first hand all the life and experience that Zee, did indeed have – all the status possible, and all big life marks, relationship and so, he indeed had them all in the past – and specially given they were in no way hung up on each other, I was so very disappointed and to be honest, shocked that she was still a virgin at her age, and with no meaningful or truly justifiable reason for being so, and enhanced and pointed out so many times, I just couldn’t let go. Yeah, it’s one of MY personal pet peeves, so I’m sure most won’t be bothered by it, but had she been half as experienced, relationship and sexually wise, as Zee was I would have sure thrilled and even more overjoyed for this two and that they finally got the HEA that they absolutely deserved after the tragedy of their past.

That being said, as all of Ms. Vale’s story, I soaked this one up from start to finish, and swooned and cheered Zee and Jubillee on how their relationship evolved and how they embraced it. Ans specially how they still kept that little bit of bickering that made them THEM!

The funny and suspenseful moments were exciting and as addictive as usual, and seeing Castiel and Turner’s interactions, and Liner’s hints on his mystery – not no much so for us LLV fans, lol – woman, have be counting down the days for next month for my Lani Lynn Vale fix and a brand new Bear Bottom Guardians MC. If you haven’t started this series yet, you truly are missing out on a MUST read! <3 <3 <3

It didn’t matter if we were spitting mad.
Something this good—this perfect—was never wrong.

I’d sell my soul to the devil, and I’d move heaven and earth to make sure that you were safe.”
