Synopsis

The last place Vaughn Westbrook expected to find himself was at a charity gala. But the dark path he’s walked since his discharge from the military led him into the upper echelons of society—where he hunts for the man behind a human trafficking ring.

Carissa Hastings lived a sheltered life in the lap of luxury. Forced to participate in a bachelorette auction, her parents expect the man of their choice to win a date with her.

Vaughn’s winning bid on Carissa was a tactical move, but logic is thrown out the window when he meets the innocent beauty.

Vaughn sold his soul long ago. There’s no way he’s going to let Carissa do the same.

Warning: This book has an alpha hero who doesn’t see himself as a hero until he meets the woman who’s meant to be his. If you like insta-love and hot sex, then this story is for you!

Please note: This is the third novella in the Body & Soul series, but it can be read as a standalone. Each book in the series features a different couple.

Excerpt

Approaching and observing an enemy who was always surrounded by other people who were in the limelight—each with their own security detail—required a shit ton of finesse. Utilizing long-distance observation equipment only got me so far with Alexander Bellamy. I needed a valid reason for a closer approach, and I was determined to find it at this damn party. Almost two hours into it, and I still hadn’t managed to get within spitting distance. But from the way his attention suddenly shifted towards the stage when they announced the next socialite up for bidding, I had a feeling I might have found a way to catch his interest.

Switching my focus in the same direction, I quickly understood his fascination. The girl on the stage was hot, no doubt about it. The innocence shining from her eyes and the blush on her cheeks was an intriguing contradiction to the lushness of her lips and the curves outlined by her tight, black lace dress. When the woman at the microphone who was running the auction circled her finger at her and the girl swiveled on her black stilettos, I felt like I’d been punched in the solar plexus. My breath caught in my lungs at the sight of her bare back. All those inches of skin revealed as the dress dipped down to just above the cheeks of her ass—I didn’t want anyone else to enjoy the sight but me.

The sound of my target’s voice ringing out with the highest bid of the night filled me with horror as I pictured the beauty on the stage ending up dead like the girl in the alley. There was no way in hell I was going to let him get his hands on her and destroy the innocence shining from her eyes. I’d kill him before that happened—but I’d much prefer that waited until I confirmed there wasn’t anyone higher up in the trafficking ring than him. Until then, I just had to figure out a way to keep her out of Bellamy’s orbit. Starting with outbidding him for the date with her he was about to win. Lucky for me, wiping scum of the face of the planet paid well.

“A quarter of a million dollars.”

Very well, judging by the crowd’s gasp and the stunned look of surprise on the girl’s face. Strategically, it was either brilliant or the stupidest decision I’d ever made. But it was a go big or go home moment. Bellamy had deep pockets, and I didn’t want to waste time dicking around with outbidding each other. Making a statement, in a big way, was the most efficient route to avoiding all the back and forth. It also achieved two goals—it garnered me a date with the gorgeous girl on stage and ensured I ended up on Bellamy’s radar. If I’d read his interest right, my prey might very well end up coming to me.

I practically felt the death glare he was sending my way, and I couldn’t resist swiveling my head and flashing him a smug grin as the auctioneer counted down.

“Two hundred fifty thousand, going once. Two hundred fifty thousand, going twice. Sold!”

Bellamy’s eyes narrowed, promising retribution from me for stealing away his prize. My smile widened because I was pleased as fuck about my upcoming date—and because I knew it would piss Bellamy off even more. Reluctantly, I tore my gaze away from his and headed towards the stage, but all of my reluctance was swept away the moment I was looking at her again.

header-sell-your-soul

This Body and Soul series has really become one of my favorite of Rochelle Paige’s. Smoking Hot ex-military, OTT Alpha heroes, insta-love and sweet and sassy heroines make the permanent and enticing trademark combo of this books, and this one, Sell Your Soul, ticks all this points and then some!

Vaughn was the absolutely perfect broken/tormented hero. After a what it seems like a lifetime in the military, and now on the private security sector, he doesn’t think of himself as a good man, and therefore undeserving of good things, specially a future with a loving woman and children. So when he comes across Carissa, amidst one his missions – which by the way, show how truly selfless and good hearted character – even though he feels she is special to him, he hesitates because he feels he doesn’t deserve someone pure and good like her, but quickly realizes that she is in he middle of the very danger he is trying to take down, and that he has no chance but to give in to this soul deep attraction and claim Carissa as his, and save her from this threat.

“I’ll give you a couple days to think about what you want, but you need to know I’m not looking for a one-time thing with you, Carissa. If you give yourself to me, then you’re mine, and I’m not letting you go.”

“Three days,” I breathed against her throat. “It’s too long for me to go without tasting your lips. Without hearing your voice. Feeling your body underneath mine. It only took me one night, and I’m completely addicted to you.”

“When you left here three nights ago, I told you I was giving you time to decide what you want because once you gave yourself to me, you’d be mine. But I was wrong—you’re already mine. You’ve been mine all along.”

Carissa has been sheltered from the real world and neglected by her parents her whole life, so when they finally show a bit of interest in her, she thinks this may be the start of a new beginning. But sadly, she quickly realizes that there must be a grand plan behind her parents reason to push her into the spotlight in bachelorette auction. But what her parents didn’t expect was that the winning bid would belong to the man that would come to mean everything to their daughter. Her true hero!

“Vaughn looks at you the exact same way as Brecken looks at Hadley.”
I finally got out of my seat and paced the floor. “He does?”
“Like you hung the moon and stars in the sky.”

I LOVED these two as a couple. Their perfect balance of sweet and sexy, hard and soft, caring and loving really conquered my heart, and Vaughn couldn’t have been more perfect in my eyes, because I adore a good broken hero, even though deep down he wasn’t that broken, and the little cracks in his soul were easily healed by Carissa’s love. And in return, he gave her a new and love filled life that she could only ever dream of before. A true fairy tale come true. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“You’re mine, and I love you,” he whispered against my lips, making me melt. “Just like I’ll love any children you give me.”
“I love you, too,” I sighed.
“I know, beautiful. That’s why everything’s going to be okay. Because we have each other.”

“Thank you,” I whispered against her lips.
“For what?”
“For loving me with all your heart, body and soul.”

Synopsis

Factory mechanic Duke Crawford just wants to watch SportsCenter in peace. Unfortunately, living with four divorcee sisters doesn’t provide much silence, nor does it change his stance on relationships. But when a fellow commitment-phobe stumbles into his life, getting him good and worked up, he can’t deny his protective instincts.

Samantha Waverly’s brother just put her in an impossible situation. The only way out? Marry huge, gruff, gladiator look-alike Duke—for show, of course. She doesn’t make promises—she knows too well how easily they can be broken—and this is no exception.

Excerpt

“I need something.”

A low, shaking curse. “Sam.”

God, the way his voice deepened on that single word made her blood flame. “Yes.” No guts, no glory. “I-I could use a good night kiss.”

His stroll back toward the door seemed to take an hour. “You could use it?” He stopped, arms braced on the building’s doorframe, his breath fogging up the glass. “Or you need it?”

For the first time in…maybe forever, Samantha’s loins started to ache, due to something other than her own imagination. And damn it all, even her crazy imagination couldn’t have conjured up a Duke. His blunt chin, the scratchy-looking hair on his belly. “I need it.”

The condensation left by his breaths appeared faster, undeniable proof he was affected, too, despite his desire to stay free of entanglements. Just like her. “One kiss. I can’t give you any more than that.” His fist came up to bang against the glass. “Don’t ask me to bring you inside. Please. I’m not the kind of man you’re looking for. But you’d get me, regardless, if we fucked. You hearing me, sweetheart?”

Samantha’s vocal cords had lost the ability to function, so she simply hung up the phone, stowed it, and set the bag in the vestibule’s corner. And waited, palms raking up and down the skirt of her dress. Duke watched her through the door a beat, before jerking it open. There was no slow motion coming together or easing into the kiss, either. No, Duke…stormed Samantha. And…and he was out of practice. She could tell right away. He couldn’t seem to stop baring his teeth long enough to kiss her properly, his hands settling on her hips and gripping way too tight. Bruises. She’d have bruises and they hadn’t even begun yet. Everything about the hovering—the brink, his harsh, growling hesitation—turned Samantha on. This was unusual for him…he didn’t do this.

All pent up. The giant’s adrenaline was all pent up.

“You look so…” He shuddered, lifting her off the floor so he could suck the skin of her neck, his arm like steel around her lower back. “You look so fucking sexy in that dress, I—”

“Thank you,” she whimpered, feet swinging, searching for purchase. The need for solid ground was gone a second later, however, when a thick, flexing thigh shoved in between her legs, pressing against her juncture with such unexpectedness, she tightened her limbs around it, gasping. “Duke.”

“We still being honest with each other, sweetheart?” He didn’t wait for an answer, roughly gliding his hands down, hooking them beneath her knees and sliding her higher on his thigh. The move dragged her core over so many ridges of sinew, she lost count, a moan slipping free. “Someday, when you’re long gone and you’ve forgotten my name, I’ll still be wondering what you’d have felt like. Taking me. Working me up, letting me take you down. Hold you down.

 Header Worked Up

Samantha found herself in Hook, the a little town of New Jersey, with some time to spare until a life defining meeting with her brother, Renner, the factory owner and biggest employer in town. When she walked into The Third Shift, the only real bar there, she was hoping to some distraction from her problems and to pass by as unnoticed as possible. A mission that revealed itself impossible in a town where everyone knew everybody and she stood out like a sore thumb. She sure drew attention, even from someone for whom a woman was the last thing on his mind.

Duke just wanted some peace and quiet to enjoy his Sport Center and beer away from the chaos his sisters had created in his house. Now that he was working as a factory repair mechanic after getting injured and retiring from the military, that was all he aimed for. He thought the Third Shift was that safe haven, but when an enticing and quirky brunette walked through the front door. He could not resist her, and his peace was from that moment on lost. In the best way!

This characters were simply extraordinary! But Duke, wow, he was in a league of his own. He was far from the typical romance novel hero, and that just made me (and Samantha) love him more. He was a true man’s man! And she gives his perfect description.

Mother Mary. There were men. And then there was Duke Crawford. He wasn’t pretty or sculpted. Didn’t have the kind of physique that would land him on the pages of a calendar or on a “hot bodies” board on Pinterest. No no. Duke was husky and covered in hair. A bear among mere cubs. His muscles were slabs she wouldn’t be able to lift if they were separated into individual muscle packs. Muscle packs? You’re losing it.

Of course the chemistry was immediate, and hard for them to fight, but both had serious draw back when he came to relationships, not to their past love lives, but what they witnessed – in Duke’s case-, and what they suffered – Samantha’s heartbreak caused her stepfather.

Truth was that’s what happened in relationships. One person inevitably let down the other. And he had too much respect for women to make one miserable on his account. Never. Happening.

But their magnetism was impossible to overlook, and Duke fast realized that he wanted Sam more than anything in his life, that she was worth the fighting for. And there was no way in hell he would allow anyone else to steal her from him.

Christ, the girl busted a hole in his gut every time she looked his direction, and at the same time somehow patching up all the holes inflicted over the years.

She created so many foreign and unexpected feelings in him, that the poor guy had no way how to react to those other that jumping the gun and making a life changing proposal. Samantha was as sweet, smart and creativity – which fitted well with her career as children’s books illustrator -, she had a gentle soul, a quirky manner, and a no bound, overworking imagination that it was delightful to read about. All that and her personal brand of sassy really got Duke She really brought his caveman nature to surface, or better yet, barbaric – like she imagined him sometimes – and it couldn’t have been more delicious to see.

Like she soon discovered Duke was all growl and no true bite (unless she wanted, LOL) and behind his bear like appearance and vibe he was a sweet and gentle soul, a true marshmallow, that protected, cherished and cared for those his loved, more than he did for himself. A truly golden hearted soul.

“You claim to be a commitment-phobe, but you’re just a big imposter, aren’t you? Even to yourself.”

A good soul with one insanely FILTHY MOUTH, we have to say! And let’s take a moment here to discuss this IMPORTANT matter because, Sweet Baby Jesus!!!! Tessa Bailey always creates the best dirty talkers in this genre, but DUKE, oh Lordy, he really took it to a whole new level!!!

“I’m going to wear your come all night, sweetheart. Right where it’s meant to be. On my cock, like a badge of fucking honor. I’m going to run my hand over it when no one’s looking, feel that dampness and remember the sweet pussy it came from.”

Tessa always gives us amazing sex scenes too, and these two were simply EXPLOSIVE! I honestly think this book should come with a special warning on that regard, because it sure isn’t for the faint of heart, and hot flashes  and tingling areas are most definitely guaranteed. So BEWARE!!! 😉

This was my favorite book of the series, with a stand out role for Duke, he is on my top 3 of Tessa’s Hs. And the secondary characters helped to that, and I loved to revisit them. But apart from that it was the perfect balance between the love story, the sex scenes and the drama that made WORKED UP gain that highlighting spot! I can’t wait to read Renner and Milo’s story! It sure will be an interesting one!!! <3

We’re becoming husband and wife because there’s some heavy magic here between us and we’re not questioning it. Ever again. We’re letting the magic work.” (Duke to Sam)

“I love you,” Samantha said, her voice uneven. “I love my husband. I could fill a thousand sketchpads and still never find a description for you. Because there isn’t one. You’re just…love. And you have mine.”

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

This story was pure Alexa Riley smutty goodness!!!
Both characters were amazing, and Coen’s Alpha hotness was delicious.
I wish the passage from the storyline to the epilogue wasn’t so abrupt though. It felt that a bit was missing, and I would have loved a bit more epilogue. I’m addicted to AR’s longer epilogues. That would have made this story beyond perfect!
Still a fantastic read nonetheless and couldn’t have ADORED these characters and storylines more!!!! Coen and Eden’s (love the names, btw) chemistry was undeniable as hot as it was sweet: pure AR perfection!!! <3

Synopsis

No take-backs.
That was the motto that Drew lived by in all things, including his love life.
He’s a player, pure and simple.
He’s learned the hard way that women aren’t all hearts and flowers. Sometimes their sexy bodies and beautiful faces are just a pretty shield to hide the crazy, and he’s so freakin’ over crazy.
Been there, done that. He has the divorce papers to prove it.
Karma hits like a bitch.
Aspen needs a break. A long one that doesn’t include anything with a Y chromosome.
Not even one as tempting as her new neighbor who just moved in across the street. Men are trouble with a capital freakin’ T, and she has the ankle monitor to prove it.
The last man she gave her heart to was a police officer. A man whose life was dedicated to protection, and he was supposed to protect her heart—not break it.
She decides right then and there that she’s done with being the better person.
Everything happens for a reason.
A rash decision—undoubtedly regrettable, undeniably unforgettable. In the heat of the moment, Aspen’s actions with a tire iron and her ex-boyfriend’s brand new SUV land him in the ER getting stitches and have her seeing the inside of a jail cell for the first time.
It’s just her luck that the whole town is there to witness the result of her poor decision, including her police officer brother and the neighbor that already made it more than clear she was more trouble than she was worth.
House arrest never looked so good.
Hide your crazy.
Drew enjoyed the show, though. For the first time in a year, he’s thinking about his life, and how it would be a lot more enjoyable with a woman like Aspen at his side.
Maybe crazy isn’t so bad after all.

PLAYLIST

Excerpt

I slammed my fingers down on the keyboard, insanely annoyed that I now had to tell how fun the product was, despite the fact that the person I’d had the fun with was a douche bag.

A knock sounded at my door and I turned to glare at it.

“Who is it?” I yelled.

“You know damn well who it is. It’s the same person that’s been knocking at your door

for the last twelve hours,” Drew growled.

I shrugged.

“Go away,” I ordered him.

I could hear him sigh through the door.

“In my eyes, the marriage Constance and I had was over,” he started.

I picked up the nearest thing to me, which happened to be a half finished water bottle, and then launched it at the door.

“Go away!”

He left, but not without one last parting comment.

“I still have a few things left in that box that I want to try on you. When you’re ready, let me know.”

I glared at the box he’d just spoken about, and went back to my review.

If you’re looking for a fun, awesome thing to do with your significant other, this is the thing for you. It offers many benefits; but most importantly, it gives you time with your significant other. And, might I add, it’s totally fucking worth it. I’ve used it three times in the last two days. It’s like he’s here.

On a side note, the vibrator is not very proficient. It offers about two hours of battery life before they need replaced.

Not that I used it for two hours or anything.

Oh, who am I kidding?

I would’ve used it longer if I hadn’t run out of batteries.

Header Oxygen Deprived

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Lani Lynn Vale is completely blowing us away with this series. It really couldn’t be any better.

Aspen has been seriously burnt by her boyfriend/fiancé, and being the awesome badass that she is, she gave him a little taste of his medicine and now has the electronic bracelet to prove it.

Drew just moved in next to Aspen, and having dealt with more than his share of crazy from an ex-wife and a rebellious teenage daughter, one would think that he would try to stay away from Aspens’ special brand of crazy or at least trying to resist his attraction to her, but no, from the very first moment he meets her, he acknowledges she’s special, and that given the chance she will become his world. Now, he just had to convince her of that…

Teaser 1 Oxygen Deprived

Drew and Aspen together were simply superb! I could have loved this couple more than I did, and they’re one of my favorite of Lani’s pairings.

Drew is every bit of the stereotype of the image of hot firefighter. Tall, packed (wink, wink…) and über sexy made for one very difficult to resist package to resist. He knows what he wants, and there’s nothing sexier than a man fighting for what he believes it’s his future.

I was forty-two years old, and never once in my life had I had a woman affect me like this woman did.

Aspen tried to resist Drew, understandably, after the disaster with her cheating cop of ex-boyfriend, but all her sassiness and kickass attitude could keep him away. And with that sizzling chemistry between them, and his sweetness and devotion to her, who could resist?!

“Every day I wake up beside you, I know that it’ll be a good day. I know, that as long as I have you, I’ll have something to look forward to. I want you to know that I adore you, Aspen Ridley. You’re so fucking beautiful, sometimes my heart aches to look at you. Today, when I told my fellow brothers that you were mine, I felt this huge weight lift off my chest.”

Drew was absolutely extraordinary! Sure, he came with a crazy ex-wife and a troubled teenager, translating in a bit of OW drama, but that was completely overshadowed with his amazing attitude and devotion to Aspen. Never once did I doubt how dedicated he was to her, and how much she meant to him, and he gives us snippets of it, over and over again.

She just fit me so perfectly, her walls wrapping me up snugly and sucking my entire length in. It was like two puzzle pieces snapping together.

Especially with the woman of my dreams in my lap helping me keep warm.

Isn’t he swoon-worthy?! This never-ending sweet and hotness combo in all his Alpha ‘badassness’ made him one of my all time favorite LLV’s Hs, and an immediate entry to my top of ‘best book boyfriends’! He was just that amazing! Sigh…

Teaser 2 Oxygen Deprived

As per Lani’s style, this book is packed with all the delicious elements that get you hooked from the very first page. From emotional to funny as hell (OMG, that build-yourself dildo scene was!!! LMAO!!!) , thrilling to tender and caring, sweet to ultra sexy moments, we really had everything in this delicious reading journey. In my view this one, had a bit of less emotional load than the others of the series, and more hilarious and naughty moments, which worked just as perfectly and the previous ones, like a bit of a breather in this outstanding series.

Of course we got a look into the other Kilgore Fire Department men – and women-, some that we’ve known from the previous installments, and some new, who made for some enticing secondary characters. Specially in the rolling in the floor laughing department. They are a fantastic group together! I seriously can’t wait for next book, with PD’s story, Controlled Burn. October can’t come soon enough! <3

“I love you because you make me feel happy. Because you make me sleep well at night. Because you make me laugh. Because, when I wake up beside you, you make my heart race. Things like that.”

Header Perfect Rage

EXTRAORDINARY! Nashoda Rose created the most emotionally beautiful, heart wrenching, soul touching, and without a doubt, absolutely unforgettable story in PERFECT RAGE!

Connor and Alina – Catalina – meet eleven prior to the present time set of the book on Afghanistan, where Alina went as a magazine photographer on a piece about an orphanage and Connor was on the end of his mission before doing the tryouts for the Canadian special forces.

Their chemistry was undeniable, from the very first moment they met, and during this month they fell deeply in love and recognized in the other their soulmate.

Awakening.

It was an awakening of my body. I didn’t know if he felt it, too, probably not, but for me it awakened something inside me. Like it lived and breathed with all these new emotions.

It was a free fall as he thrust inside me. Not knowing where I’d land. If I’d survive. But nothing mattered except the beauty in the fall.

Sadly, an evil reality came crashing down on them, in the most atrocious of ways, and they were separate, tortured and broken…

Without revealing to much, since the journey is key in this book, they both went through hell, but thought they would always have the memory of their love.

Carved. Etched. Engraved. Fuck, it was everything. Her standing there was an image I’d never forget. Didn’t need a fuckin’ photo to remind me.

Or so they thought…

When they were able to chemically erase every trace of the old Connor from his memory, and transform him into a killing machine, they destroyed Alina right along with him. But also shown us how she NEVER, not even for a moment, stopped believing in their love, never stopped believing in Connor.

Through it all, every heart breaking moment, she was their unmovable anchor, and his safe harbor.

At any moment, life could throw a hook and drag you under, but if you had that one person to hold onto, the fight to the surface was easier. That person was your reason to breathe.

Recovering his memories was devastating to him, he saw no way out of the darkness but still couldn’t stay away from Alina. Their connection was indeniable, and even when he fought it he came defeated every time, because he just couldn’t stay away from him, she was part of him, his sliver of light in a sea of darkness and demons.

Teaser Perfect Rage 2

And that’s all she ever wanted, to be with and there for him. She was wholesome hearty his. The other half of his soul…

“I fell for you, Connor. I fell in love with you a long time ago. I may not have known all of you, but I knew who you were, what type of person. And I loved who I was with you.”

“You love a man who’s dead. That’s not me now, Alina.”

“Maybe not. But whoever you’ve become, you’re still the man I love. You’re still him and remembering what you’ve done is killing you. But you know why it is? Because you still have the good parts. If you didn’t care, none of the stuff you did while drugged would matter to you.”

Alina was one of the strongest heroines I’ve ever read. Even with her own personal  brand of torture, she could only think of Connor. She fought for them and their love all throughout the story, and her faith in them never once wavered. All she ever wanted was their love, and their second chance.

Connor… I couldn’t have loved him more. After Kai, in Perfect Ruin, I thought I had found my favorite Nashoda hero, and he could be beat. Well wasn’t I wrong?! I loved Connor and every broken piece of him, which just made him more special. His loyalty, sense of right, devotion and playfulness (prior to the programming drugs) we impossible to resist, so I completely understand Alina’s fight for them, because damn, he’s more than worth it! His love for Alina was just as pure and soul deep.

“What I feel for her is limitless. There is no end to the love I have for her.”

Perfect Rage really was one of the most beautiful Love stories I’ve ever read and this characters chemistry came through in every single page. Never once did I doubt they were meant to be together. And of course that exploded in their ‘orgasmic inducing’ sex scenes! Lordy, these were some of the steamiest scenes I’ve had the pleasure of reading. They weren’t just having sex, they were indeed communicating with their bodies! These scenes were just as emotionally charged as the rest, even more so. You could feel it transpiring with every touch, with every breath… It was indeed a way for them to communicate their love for one another.

“My mind may have forgotten you, Alina, but my body never did.”

Of course we have some extraordinary secondary characters, specially the MCs of the previous books – which that give us one more look into their HEA – and show an incredible loyalty, friendship and support to both the main characters, even when they least wanted. That’s what friends are for, after all! 😉

“Jesus Christ, why can’t you leave me the fuck alone?”

“You know why,” Deck answered calmly. “We don’t leave a man behind—Ever.”

Nashoda creates some of the most perfect imperfect characters I’ve ever read and transforms their story in the most unique of ways, approaching serious themes like sex and child traficking, torture, murder, rape, but never in a descriptive, traumatizing way, but getting her point across and creating awareness on the matter. That is a true gift! And even though you get all these points, the main focus of her book, and this is no exception, are the ROMANCE, the beautiful LOVE story, and them getting their own Happy Ever After!

“We’re going to be okay, aren’t we?”

“Yeah. Not perfect. Not the same. But yeah.”

“I don’t want perfect or the same. I just want us and whoever we are now,”

It took us eleven years to get here, but we made it because our love was limitless.

Header Protection Crisis

Protection Crisis is the perfect trademark of Rochelle Paige’s books: the perfect balance of sweet and steamy. Low angst, and a sure HEA/HFN that is guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face, are the perfect finishing touch!

Kael is an absolutely perfect hero, protective, caring and smoking hot. Even before meeting Chloe, from the very moment he first takes a look at her photo, he is lost in her. She became his dream girl, that never once thought he would see, let alone seduce and conquer her heart!

“It was months before then, Chloe. I saw your face staring up at me from the cover of a magazine and that was it for me—I was fascinated.”
“You always seem to know the perfect thing to say.”
“Only with you.”

Chloe is such an adorable heroine. She couldn’t have be more distant from the diva type, so down to earth, and giving. Her hidden fragility was the perfect counterpart to Kael’s alpha protectiveness, but with a touch of delicious sass.

“There will be no going back from this for you and me. If you give yourself to me, I’m taking you. You’ll be mine, and I won’t be letting you go.”
“I’m right here for you to take.”

This story was the PERFECT insta-love smutty read. Which I love dearly! The touch of adventure coupled with the romance and their sizzling chemistry rapture you from the very beginning, and before you even realized you just finished the book, and want to dive right into Rochelle’s next book! And after that hint of a teaser I can’t wait for Brody’s story! <3

“I came out here and found my life,” I corrected her. “As long as I have you, everything else will fall into place.”

Excerpt

What’s that?” I tease, straightening up, trying to give my dick some more room and sucking in some air through my teeth in an attempt to keep the beast at bay.

“A present, silly. Don’t tell me no one’s ever given you a present before.” She holds out the box between us in two upturned palms, like it’s some sort of an offering. “I made it. Open it.”

She’s full on smiling now and I can’t stop imagining how her pouty, full pink lips are going to feel around my cock.

“Okay, Pink.” I can’t help but call her that, because that’s who she is. I reach for the box but she jerks it away. She’s looking at me through narrowed eyes, like I just told her I can catch her a unicorn.

“How did you do that?”

“Do what?”

She lets out a defeated puff of air and her shoulders slump as she holds out the box again. I take it because now I really want it. I want to open the box and I want to open her. Untie her like a gift and give her part of me.

I tug the end of the ribbon with one hand and hold the bottom of the box with the other. She’s still swinging her feet and rubbing against the outside of my pants with every movement, making my heart pound out a SOS below my belt.

I slip a finger under the top flap and flip it open. When I see what’s inside, all bets are off. There is no more weird; there is just fate and destiny, and I can’t even fucking believe someone like me is saying those words, but it’s true. She was meant for me and nothing will keep me from her, from taking what is rightfully mine.

I imagine burying my face between her thick thighs, the sound of my name on her lips and her cum filling my mouth.

“Pink,” I growl, and the contrast between the deep raw baritone of my voice and the word itself is as shocking as what is happening right now.

“Yes, it’s a pink raspberry Napoleon. My own original creation. How did you know it would be pink?” Her eyes twinkle as she speaks. “I had to hold it the whole way on the bus to make sure it made it in one piece.”

I shake my head, then set the box down next to us on the desk and bring my face next to her ear.

“Do you believe in destiny, Pink?” I don’t give her a chance to answer. “I didn’t until right now. Thank you for this gift. I would love to eat it, but there is something else I want to eat even more. Get ready, my little May, you are about to discover what a real orgasm feels like.”

“What?”

“Lift up your skirt,” I growl, my teeth on her neck, taking my first bite and listening to her breathy whimpers. I mark her here first, knowing full well it will only be the first. “I want you to show me what else you brought me.”

I lean back, my eyes gobbling up every detail of her face, down her chest where my hands are already working to open the buttons on her sweater.

“Do it. Show me, I want to see your panties,” I order, pinning her with my eyes, and there is a flash of doubt. “You didn’t answer me before. Do you believe in fate, May?”

“I’m not sure.” Her voice is barely above a whisper and her fingertips move to touch the hem of her schoolgirl skirt.

“You should.”

Excerpt

1

Violet

I pull my eyes away from the man I haven’t been staring at for the last thirty minutes. Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I take a sip from the warm beer I’ve been milking. I don’t stare at men. Never really have. Not since… I push that thought away, not wanting to go there right now. I have other things to think about.

    Scribe.

I can’t tell you that it’s clear he got a haircut today. The sides buzzed short and the top left long, like a sexy ass mohawk. Even his beard is perfectly cut and combed. Just like everything about him. The tips of my fingers tingle just thinking about running my fingers along the side of his head to feel the fresh cut of his hair.

He’s broad and lean and looks nothing like what you’d think a computer hacker would look like. No cliché when it comes to Scribe there. He’s doesn’t look like someone who’d spent years working for the government. No, he looks like he spends half his life in a gym. A GQ model covered in tattoos if ever there was one. I don’t fucking know because I don’t think I’ve ever read the magazine, but I’ve seen the covers my sisters leave around. He’s definitely not something you’d see sitting behind a computer screen doing God knows what. I can barely check my email.

I’ve only met him a few times now, and even with the few words we’ve shared, I already can’t stand him. Or maybe it’s the fact that I can’t stand how he makes me feel when he’s in a room with me. The spark that hit me the first time I’d seen him. Maybe spark is underplaying something I’ve been feeling since I’d meet him. More like a ball of hot lust that’s burning me deep in my gut, making me itch. That has never happened to me in my life. It’s unsettling, and something I hadn’t planned for, and I don’t like when things don’t go to plan.

He is just so damn…charming, witty, smart, fucking sexy, and the world’s biggest flirt. Well, the last I’ve just heard whispers of. Because, fuck me if I haven’t been listening to anything and everything people say about him. Trying to soak it all in and pretend I don’t care at the same time.

There are jokes here and there about it, but right now I’m looking right at it as he leans against the bar, talking to a beautiful blonde bartender. She is exactly the kind of woman that I’d picture up against him. Under his arm. She’s tall enough to match his height and has curves in all the right places. Womanly. Something I’m definitely not. I haven’t worn a dress or heels in…I search my mind and come up blank. I don’t even have a womanly body. I’m more straight and lean and maybe have a handful of tit. I hadn’t given much thought to it until lately, which only further pisses me off. I don’t do insecure, but I’d caught myself just last night looking at myself in the mirror wondering if a man like Scribe would even look my way. That just burned.

Denim and Diamonds is where all the Ghost Riders like to hang out. That’s the club I’m trying to fit in with, and I’m hoping I’ll be getting news very soon that I’m now a prospect. I’ve been busting my ass to get this. I’ve never wanting something so bad in my life, and I knew it was where I belonged from the first moment I’d met my sister-in-law Mac, also known as Casper in the Ghost Riders. The only female member at the moment. Not only that, but she’s their Sergeant at arms and one of the best snipers that served our country. She put a lot of things into focus for me. Showed me what I’d been missing. This meaningless feeling I’d been walking around with. I know this could fill it. This is something I have to be a part of. Something I want to be a part of me.

I didn’t want to go into the police force like the rest of my family had. Well, the men anyway. I seemed to be the only female in the family who had a desire to play with guns and knives and run with the boys. I’d always been like that, even with all my sisters always trying to dress me and make me go on dates. I wanted to play with my older brother Vincent instead. Listen to him and Dad swap stories of their time on the force. I wanted a life like that.

Adrenaline. I love it; it makes me feel alive. But I’d never looked at a man before and had a dose of it shoot through my veins. Even though I love it when it hits, I don’t like it coming from a man. Even worse, a man like Scribe. He’s all kinds of wrong for me, and while I might be able to hang with the guys, I don’t have much experience really playing with them like that. Like I said, that spark had just never hit.

“Violet, don’t look so tense. You got this,” Casper, my sister-in-law says to me. I glance over at her. Like always she has her long black hair pulled up in a tight ponytail. But unlike her usual tight black tee, today she has on a loose shirt hiding her little baby bump.

She leans back in the chair next to me, scrolling through her phone. “Pres is going to call us in soon.”

I nod and look back out into the bar, watching everyone. Just trying to take it all in and do as Cas taught me. Watch everything and everyone.

“Who’d you hit first?” Cas asks me, leaning forward in her chair and putting her elbows on the table.

“Two o’clock in the blue with the goatee.” Cas smiles. “Then the one in red, three down to blue shirt to the right. Normally I would have said Red, but he’s got a few beers deeper, so he’ll be slower.”

“What about him?” I follow Cas’s line of sight and see a big motherfucker leaning against the far wall and watching two girls play pool. He looks deadly. Probably is with his hands, but takes a lot for a man that size to move, and I’ve got lots of time before he could get to me.

“He’s not carrying. He’d come later.”

She must like what I say, because she just leans back in her chair once again, going back to her phone.

I go back to watching. Pres, Lucias Houston, doesn’t let sweet butts into the club, so this is where everyone hangs when not at the clubhouse. A lot of locals know that, and this place is always crawling with women looking for a bad boy.

It’s a thrill I don’t understand. Or maybe I’ve just been around my father and brother too much. They treat their wives like gold. Like nothing else in the whole world is more important to them, and I don’t think that’s something I’m going to find around here. Even less so with someone like Scribe. Not that I’m looking, I remind myself. I’m not his type either, and he barely gave me the time of day when first saw him. In fact, he looked like he didn’t like me at all. Worse, I’d overheard him tell Pres I shouldn’t be here. Just my fucking luck. The first interest I show in a man in forever and he doesn’t even want to be in the same room as me.

The reminder has me tightening my grip around my beer bottle. How the fuck does he know if I belong here or not? He doesn’t even know me. Has no idea of what I’m capable of. The things I’ve done. No, not many know. That was sealed up tight. So tight I don’t even think Scribe could find it.

I glance over at him once again and see the blonde bartender throw back her head and laugh at whatever he just said to her. I have to fight an eye roll. I’m not sure if I want to roll my eyes at them or myself for even caring. Fuck him. I’ll show him how much I belong.

The bartender nods towards the door that leads to the back of the bar into the kitchen, and Scribe nods back, following her and making my stomach do a little nervous flip. God, I have to shake this. Whatever it is I’m feeling for him has to go, because it’s not going to work. At least not with him.

“Can’t go hating Scribe already,” I hear Cas say next to me. I turn to see her staring at me, busting me spying on him following the bartender into the back. “He can drive you nuts, but he’ll always be your eyes on the ground when you’re high in the hills.”

I study her for a second. I know her and Scribe are close, which makes sense with what she’s saying. When you’re the sniper, you’re always away from the pack, and someone has to feed you intel. And that someone would of course be Scribe.

For me, it had only ever been Cas when she was helping me train. Trying to teach me everything she knows for me to be as good a shot as her. I’m not, but I’m getting close, and the training is paying off. But there had been sessions where she’d made me sit in the hills alone for hours with only her in my ear and my gun trained on one spot. Until my body started to throb with aches and pains. I never knew being stealth could hurt so much. But having someone with you in your ear helped. Pulled you through the hours. And I’m guessing that’s what they had when they were serving together or when she did jobs for the Ghost Riders. I’m trying to fill that role now because Cas is going to be MIA for a little while. Can’t lie on your stomach for hours with a baby bump. Not to mention my brother Vincent would lose his mind if she was on jobs now.

I just smile like I don’t have a problem with him, but her eyes study me, and I have a feeling she can see through me. She always seems to be able to do that, and she’s been trying to get me to do it, too. Always be seconds ahead of people. If you can read them, you will be able to anticipate their movements. And seconds matter when you’re behind the scope of a gun. I don’t think my eyes are as good as hers, not yet anyway, but I’ll keep trying. Any little knowledge she’s given me, I’ve soaked it up. It’s what I’ve always done. With my father, my brother, school, and now her. I’m hungry for it.

I hear her phone vibrate, and she pulls her eyes from mine and looks down at it. “Let’s go.” She jumps up from her chair seeming just as eager as I am.

I abandon my beer and follow her out of the bar, hopping into my truck. Like Cas, it’s hard to ride a chopper with some of the gear we carry around, and we’d been training all day and my cab was full of all kinds of shit.

I follow her down the road for about a mile until we reach club property. It’s nothing like you’d normally think, with unkempt land and chain-link fences. They handle this place with care. You can see it. This is their home, and they take pride in it.

The front of the property has a brick privacy fence, and it makes you wonder what’s behind it. Cas pulls up to the gate, enters her code, and waves me to go around her as the double iron gate swings open. I pass through, making sure it doesn’t close on me. I drive through a tree-lined driveway that’s about a half a mile long to the clubhouse, an old farm that’s been converted for the Ghost Riders.

I know the property used to belong to the Pres’s father before he passed, then Pres took it over. I’ve spent hours out here on the land with Cas training me. The whole property is littered with buildings. Some of them are used for businesses, one of which Cas owns herself. A gun range a little off to the east of the property that has a public entrance.

I pull up to the main house, which is huge. A few bikes are parked out front, and I recognize one right away. Scribe. I didn’t even see him leave. I thought he was still in the back of the bar. I pull myself from the truck as Cas pulls up next to me. I follow her in and see only Scribe and Savage sitting in the main area where everyone normally hangs. Savage is sitting on one of the sofas looking every bit of his name, taking up most of the thing with his massive bulk. He has a hard look on his face like he doesn’t really want to be here. Scribe is sitting in one of the stools at the old wooden bar with his computer open next to him.

His eyes come straight to me when he hears us enter. Then he shakes his head. I don’t know how the fuck he beat us here. I figured he’d still be in the back of the bar with the blonde. I inwardly smirk that his time got cut short because of the meeting being called.

“Don’t start,” Cas barks, a slash of heat behind her words. I guess she knows too that Scribe doesn’t like the idea of my being around.

“She’s not ready.” His eyes run over me. I never seem to get the funny, flirty Scribe everyone talks about. I only ever get distaste. We all know why we’re here. I know they’ve been talking about me coming into the Ghost Riders, and today is the day I find out if I’m in. If I get a shot.

I try not to flinch at his words, keeping my face impassive. I don’t want him thinking he bothers me one bit. He’s just like the boy on the playground when you’re a kid. If they know they get to you, they’ll keep doing it. You just have to ignore them. Or just punch them in the face. That trick worked, too. I have a feeling I’ll be doing that one soon. “

You questioning my judgment?” I hear Cas say from behind me as I make my way towards Scribe. His eyes stay on me, giving me a look I can’t quite make out. Good, you should keep looking at me, because I’m the one coming for you.

“She’s going to get herself hurt. Maybe even killed.” His eyes shoot over my shoulder at Cas, then back to me as my feet eat up the distance between us.

“We aren’t going to let anyone near her. She’ll be miles out from danger.” Cas is standing hard behind my being here.

“Doesn’t matter,” I say, sliding up next to him, taking the stool next to his and turning to face him. His musky sweet scent hits me, and I didn’t know a man could smell like both at the same time, but he does. “I don’t need to be miles away. I can handle myself right here,” I tell him, looking him dead in the eyes. “You don’t know me.” My words are flat, brooking no argument. It’s nice to be farther away from your target, but I learned at a younger age that isn’t always the case. Sometimes you have to be close. Sometimes life just gives you the option and you have to learn how to protect yourself in that moment, and I have.

“I know a lot more than you think.” He glances at his computer, then back at me. “In fact, I feel like I know almost everything.” A small smirk plays at his lips, and I wonder if that’s a trace of the flirting I’ve heard so much about. Does he think I’ll turn into some blushing girl in front of him and bat my eyelashes? Not happening. Not for him. Never for a man who doesn’t think I belong. I may not know shit about men in this area, but I know how the men in my life treat their women, and I want that.

“That so?” I scoot a little closer to him, wanting him to know I don’t care what he thinks. That he has no effect on me, even if that’s a total lie. I want him to know that I’m here and I’ll be all up in his fucking space and this place whether he likes it or not. “Just because you went through my life with your computer doesn’t mean you know shit.”

“I beg to differ.” He leans a little in himself. “You finished college in under three years, spending hours up late writing your papers and studying, that when you can’t sleep you read Harry Potter, and you like to scroll JJ Watt’s Twitter a little too much.” He says the last part with gritted teeth. “You’re too young to be here.”

All the things he said are true, except the part about me being too young, but that’s unimportant. These are things he shouldn’t be looking at. My personal fucking business. Has nothing to do with this club. I get they need to know shit about me, but that is just a little too intimate. He doesn’t have that privilege. I haven’t granted him that privilege.

I also don’t throw in his face that everyone in this room was fighting in a war when they were 18. I’m 21. I feel my age is just fine and not part of this equation because I can do what they need me to do and that’s all that matters.

I reach down, grabbing the knife out of my right boot and slamming the blade down into the wood of the bar, leaving the handle sticking up.

“Shit,” I hear from the other side of the room, but I don’t turn to look to see who said it. Neither does Scribe. He didn’t so much as blink. Not even when I pulled out the knife.

“You can’t see everything behind that computer,” I tell him, pulling the knife from the wood, still looking straight into his eyes as I lay my left hand, palm down flat, on the bar, fingers spread wide. I start to unhurriedly hit the blade between each finger, slowly picking up speed. Moving my right hand faster and faster as the knife lands between my fingers, hitting the wood of the bar. I’m sure it’s leaving nice little nicks each time it hits, but I don’t give a fuck. Finally, he pulls his eyes from mine and looks at my hand. “Not everything is as it appears on your little screen. I think someone like you would know that, because most of you are nothing like you seem.”

“Jesus Christ.” I hear another voice from the other side of the room again.

Scribe’s eyes are now studying my hand, but I still keep looking at him as I move the blade between my fingers with quick ease. I know what he’s going to do. He’s looking for the right moment to grab my hand, and just when he goes to grab me, I pull back, making him jump. It gives me an opening, and I slam the knife right into the center of the keyboard of his laptop. The light drains from the screen.

“Stay out of my fucking business,” I say as calmly as I can. I pull the knife from his keyboard and throw it across the room to the dartboard next to the pool table. I hit it square in the center. “I can handle myself,” I tell him, leaning in so I’m only a breath away. “Even better when I’m close up.”

Header Riding Him

WOW… I’ve been so looking forward to Knox’s story, and Alexa Riley more than delivered!
Knox tried to avoid this bone deep attraction to Violet, but even he was aware it was only a matter of time! And Violet felt exactly the same way, so when they finally clashed (it was an AWESOME scene) there was no going back for either of them! Not that they wanted that, LOL!
Violet was totally badass but still so incredibly feminine, and Knox knew just the perfect way to handle her! When though she was so strong and independent, between those two there was NO doubt who was the Alpha, and in control! They were fantastic and so incredibly HOT together!!! I LOVE a good hot computer geek, and Knox was that and then some! Sigh… <3

“I’m yours,” she breathes, gripping her legs tighter around my waist and giving over her control.
It’s the last piece of the puzzle I need from her, and now I’m complete. I want to own not only her body but her heart and her mind.

Synopsis

In an instant, my world turned upside down
Because of one incident, my life will never be the same
Every day I struggled to breathe
Every day I went through the motions
I felt too much
I was numb
I was drowning
I was lost inside the black
So they made me go there
I was already there, watching from the dark
And then I met him
And then I saw her
He scared me to death
She took my breath away
He was darkness
She was my light
They whispered he can’t be touched
She was the only one I could touch
I couldn’t be with him, they needed me
I fucking needed her
So I told him I would be his friend
I told her I would be her friend. For now.
But I couldn’t resist him for long
She finally realized that she’ll always be mine
We were a hot mess
We were the perfect kind of mess
Then reality dawned on me
Then my demons broke loose
I was underwater, trying to break through to the surface
I reached out my hand, trying to pull her to shore
Could he really help me?
Would she accept me, scars and all?
This was us
This was our story

“Aria?”

My body tensed, as I watched the motherfucker who’d touched her coming our way.

“Oh, hey Brian.”

His tall frame loomed over her while he stood with his hands inside his front pockets. He was built, and if I were a chick, I would probably think he looked decent. He had curly blond hair, blue eyes and tan skin. He looked like a freaking copy of a Ken-doll. Fucking cliché. I hated him already.

“We’re all going to have a drink at a nearby bar. You wanna come?”

I didn’t want her to go anywhere with him, but if she decided to go there was nothing I could do about it. All I could do was bite my tongue and pray she would say no.

“That’s sweet of you, Brian, but I can’t today. I’m sorry.”

“Oh, yeah… sure. Maybe some other time?”

He looked disappointed, yet hopeful she would say yes.

Did I mention I hated this fucker?

“Yeah, maybe,” she mumbled.

He smiled, nodded, and turned around, leaving with the rest of the group waiting for him.

“Fucker,” I said under my breath.

“What?”

Shit. “Um… nothing.”

She looked at me with questioning eyes. ”What’s going on?”

I sighed. “Don’t date him.” The words tumbled out of my mouth without permission. I winced, knowing I sounded like a fucking mental case.

“Whoa… who said I was going to date him? He was just being friendly.”

I laughed humorlessly. “That guy doesn’t have one friendly thought about you. I can promise you that.”

I didn’t have friendly thoughts about her either. But right now, the thought of her with him – or anyone else for that matter – made my blood boil.

She shook her head. “You’re overreacting, but alright, I won’t date him. Geez… happy?”

“No,” I growled.

“What?” She sounded annoyed.

I didn’t care. I was on a roll. My hands settled on either side of her chair, caging her in. “I don’t want you to date anyone else.”

 “Excuse me?”

Fuck. This was not going well.

“I need you to promise me that you won’t date someone else. I said I would be your friend, and I will. But you need to know…” My head inched closer until I was in her face. “I want more. I want you. I promise I’ll wait for you until you’re ready for me. But please…” I pleaded. I fucking begged, “Don’t date other people. I couldn’t bear it.”

Header Underwater

Underwater was the most beautiful and heartfelt story I have read in a long time, a true emotional ride.

Aria has been fighting so hard to keep all her family afloat, since her father’s cancer diagnose, and at the same time fighting alone to keep all her pain inside herself.

This kind of pain is not a foreign concept to Dorian. He has been dealing, without true success, with all the ghosts from his time in the military. His visible scars aren’t really the deepest and problematic ones, but coupled with his demeanor, they tend to keep people away, enabling his detachment of the world and loneliness. Until the day, Arial crosses his path – and does seem bothered by his defense/protective mechanism – and gives a new meaning to his existence…

The day started like any other. I never imagined I would meet this girl at any stage of my miserable life, much less today. She was like a ray of light shining through the dark cage I was hidden in, brightening up my fucking universe.

Teaser 2 Underwater

Aria is just as instantly drawn to him as he is to her. He intrigues and attracts her like no one did before, and even though she thinks this isn’t the right time, she can’t fight her feelings.

I wanted him away. I wanted him close. I wanted everything and nothing.

Both Aria and Dorian are such amazing characters! They suffered and still do, but they show an incredible amount of strength, understanding and LOVE!!! Yes, they are broken and individuals, but together, they couldn’t be more complete.

“You two are really good for each other.”

 He was right.

 Alone, we were broken pieces.

Together, we were whole.

Yes, they aren’t perfect, but for me, as a reader they couldn’t have been more PERFECT!!! Aria was so compassionate, with such a caring and loving nature, and so incredibly strong, specially for her family. But with Dorian, she allowed her pain and vulnerability to show, and him to become her rock, her partner, her love. That and Aria’s love was all needed to give a new purpose to his life. From the very beginning she was special and unique to him, and he never failed to let her (and us) know. He was one of deeply romantic heroes I have ever read, we could really feel his love and how much she meant to him.

“All you have to do is touch me,” he murmured, his eyes glimmering with awe. “And my world is right again.”

“For years,” he said, “I didn’t feel a thing. Absolutely nothing. Then you walked through that door and I couldn’t see anything but you.”

He never once doubted their love and connection and had me literally swooning all along their story. He gives a whole new meaning to perfect imperfect.

I truly can’t express how in love I am with these characters. They are so beautifully developed I couldn’t think of one single thing I would change about them. That’s how perfect they are, specially together! We feel that they were meant to be, two broken soul s that destiny brought together to feel complete as one! <3

Teaser 1 Underwater

This was such an amazing story which shows us, in depth, so many kinds of love, in the most beautiful and realistic manner. It’s an emotionally heavy read given all the subplots, like her father’s – and her family – struggle with cancer, his torture while in captivity in the hands of the enemy and subsequent PTSD, that brought me to tears more than once, roof of Maayan incredible writing and story telling talent.

I know that this story is very close to her heart, and I’m sure it’s part of the reason for this stellar and successful debut novel. This partly biographical character of the book showed incredible courage and gave so much richness to the story that really transported us to feeling her pain, suffering, and devastation upon her father’s cancer. So thank you for sharing this beautiful and touching novel with all of us!

This start couldn’t have been better, in my opinion, and I’m so looking forward to the second book, which I’m sure will be equally as fantastic (and maybe even take one more look into these two’s life like it’s hinted on the snippet of the next one – please Maayan, we want even more Aria and Cole!) !

“I love you,” I said. I dropped my hands to her lower back, drawing her body securely against mine until we were both sitting on the grass, swings long forgotten. “I love you more than words can say and emotions can express. I love you more than my eyes can see, and more than my hands can feel.” I kissed her. “I love you every second, minute, and hour of each day, and I know that no matter what happens to us in the future, these feelings I have for you will never change.”

About the Author
I am twenty-six years old and I live in a small town in Israel.
My family and I were going through some difficult times not too long ago and one day I was confiding in my best-friend about everything. I didn’t know how to deal with it all. Then she suggested I should write a book about it. I looked at her as if she had grown another head and dismissed the idea on the spot. But the seed had been planted, and day after day, little by little, without realizing it – I started writing.
That’s how Underwater was born.
I found writing to be cathartic, healing.  Something that helped my mind unwind and put things in perspective. I discovered a magical world where I traveled between imagination and reality. Writing became my home and I never wanted to leave.
I love to read, write, listen to music, edit videos, and play the guitar. I am always looking for the next creative thing. I also like a good movie and a glass of wine.

Synopsis

There are rules to life that one just obeys in order in her attempt stay on the right path. For example:

1. You don’t wear dirty panties out of the house. You just never know who’s going to see them.

2. A lady must always have chocolate at the ready—just in case the world as she knows it comes to an end.

3. You don’t egg on a drunk woman who’s pissed off at life.

Why, you ask? Because they start bar fights, that’s why.

Casten Red, the unofficial enforcer of The Uncertain Saints MC, wasn’t necessarily trying to urge her into doing anything illegal, and he definitely wasn’t trying to get her into a fight with a group of men who were all twice her size.

No, he only intended to give her the confidence to stand up for herself, just a little nudge in the right direction. How the hell was he supposed to know she’d go all Chuck Norris on them and put three of them in the hospital with concussions?

He should’ve followed his gut instinct and turned around that first moment he saw her in the bar, but Casten has never liked following the rules.

Why the hell would he start now?

“You’re dilly dallying,” Casten growled.
I turned around, bag in one hand, and papers in the other, and glared.
“What makes you think that I don’t have a fuckin’ reason for doing what I do?” I growled.
He held up his hands.
“Down tiger,” he said soothingly, although his eyes flashed, telling a different story.
I shoved the rest of my things in my bag, bending them to hell and back, but I couldn’t seem to find the urge to care at that moment in time.
I walked past him, knocking his shoulder, and headed to the back hallway to turn off the last of the lights.
I hit the first two in the in the locker room before heading to the last one in the entire gym area at the bathroom entrance.
But before I could hit the lights, my hand was stilled by Casten’s.
“What’s your problem?” he asked.
I tried to rip my hand free from his grip, but he held on without even the least bit of effort.
“I’m pissed,” I growled.
“Why?” he countered.
I looked across the room at the mirror, and glared at his reflection.
“I don’t want to tell you why I’m pissed. Suffice it to say, you’re the reason, and that’s that,” I growled.
He tightened his hands on my wrists.
“That’s not it. Tell me fuckin’ why, or I’ll make you tell me,” he hissed.
My fists clenched.
“Because you fucking pouted last night instead of talking to me. Then made Core spend the night and take me to work, when I didn’t want him to be there. I wanted you to be there. But you were being a titty baby,” I yelled.
He moved me until my ass met the counter, crowding so close that I was sure he was either going to beat me or fuck me.
Hopefully the latter over the former, if I had a choice.
“Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!” I exclaimed.
I waited.
Nothing.
“Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!” I cried.
I waited.
Again, nothing.
“Shit,” I said, opening my eyes.
“Done?” Casten asked from where he’d trapped me against the bathroom counter.
“My clothes are getting wet. In fact, I think my pants are soaked all the way through,” I grumbled, leaning forward until my upper body was laying across the counter.
Casten sat up until all that was touching me were his hips, where his massive erection dug into my ass.
“You’re cute,” he said, reaching up and pulling my hair out of my ponytail.
I glared. “I’m not cute.”
He grabbed my face and turned it to face the mirror.
His hands were squeezing my face so I looked like I had ten chin rolls and lips three sizes too big.
“See,” he said. “Cute.”

Header Vodka on the Rocks

Casten life revolves around his MC and his businesses. A woman is not part of the equation, not does he desire it to be, so when he mets Tasha, and is instantly attracted to the brunette he tries his best to avoid his feelings and specially not showing them to her.

And each time I saw her, it became harder and harder to resist her.

 But I would.

Because I couldn’t have a woman.

 Women and I didn’t mix.

Tasha may seem like a carefree ball of energy, with her large number of degrees, but deep down she his hidden a deep pain from  her past, that left scars as ingrained as Casten’s injury in combat did on him.

But you know what they say about two broken souls together… It is indeed true, and once Casten accept what was in plain site for anyone to see – that Tasha was his one -, and fought for her and to protect her against a dangerous stalker, it was incredible to see their relationship develop. But specially the way they delivered themselves to each other.

“All I wanted was to be free, to live my life without commitment. But now all I can think about is you. How you’re feeling. What you’re fucking doing. You’ve worked your way into every single one of the cracks in my armor, and I don’t think I’ll ever get you the fuck out or that I even want to,” (Casten to Tasha)

I have to say that Tasha, the heroine, was definitely my favorite character of the story, her strength and sassiness, and her hidden fragility made her steal the show for me, which I loved! Casten was  also a fantastic character, and the badass bearded MC hottie role, fitted him to T, but some attitudes he took, and the pushing away, got a bit on my nerves, and made me a bit less sympathetic to him. Don’t get me wrong, he was still a delicious hero, I just wished he had done things a bit differently. But, like I said, he also had a lot of caring (as you can see in the quotes) and wickedly sexy moments – sizzling HOT sex scenes – with and towards Tasha, so still the HOT king of the story! LOL 😉

And those secondary characters, wow!!! Lani, really, it’s evil to tease us like this!!! We get an insight into the life of the MCs of the previous books, but also some enticing snippets into the upcoming characters, one more delicious than the other, that leave us counting the days until the release of their story!

It was an amazing story, as per Lani Lynn Vale’s usual, with all the exciting, funny, romantic, and sexy elements we want in our Romance, and that Lani’s special ‘touch’ that makes us completely devour it in one sitting.

And now, bring on THE BAD APPLE!!!

“No. Because I liked you too much. You’re Trouble, with a capital T. You’ll ruin me.” He ran his lips along my belly. “You’ll put me back together, but you’ll be a part of me when you’re through, and I’ll never be able to function without you ever again. Forever.” (Casten to Tasha)
