MAYBE SWEARING WILL HELP

Series: SWAT Generation 2.0 #3

Author: Lani Lynn Vale

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Release Date: March 10th, 2020

Synopsis

Ford Spurlock has known Ashe Trammel since they were babies.

He’s also done his level best to stay away from her because every time he gets to within five feet of her, they’re fighting like cats and dogs.

Ashe is the apple of her father’s eye. The motorcycle club princess that was never to be harmed in any way—or touched for that matter. And he’s always resented the fact that she could get away with things that he couldn’t. Things that she then blames on him and he always gets punished for.

Fast forward to adulthood, and Ashe is still off limits. Still driving him insane. Still…beautiful.

She never misses an opportunity to give him hell, either.

That has to be why he agrees to do a photoshoot for KPD SWAT that’ll benefit her charity even when he’d rather shoot himself in the foot with his duty weapon.

***

Ashe never thought he’d agree.

Honestly, she thought she’d ask him, he’d say no, and that’d be the end of it.

She never realized that she’d leave his photo up in her cubicle, and it’d be the last thing that she saw every night as she locked her office door.

When they were kids, Ford used to be that boy that threw dirt at her and pulled her hair.

Now, he’s the same Ford Spurlock, only a whole lot sexier. And a lot harder to say no to.

When he challenges her to one date, she has no other recourse but to agree.

What she didn’t agree to was falling in love with Mr. March. Or wanting to give him everything she had to give.

3.75 ‘Love To Hate’ Stars

Oh boy, talk about fighting like cats and dogs!!! Ford and Ashe are the definition of mortal enemies since childhood, and now all that banter and friction exploded into the most intense of romances! OMG, the banter was just so SPOT ON!!!

These SWAT 2.0’s are as delicious as they covers point too, and Mr. March’s story was no exception, I enjoyed the heck out of it, who knew that this deep seated childhood nemesis could turn into a love this bright, when they barely managed to not strangle each other on every encounter?! LOL

I was a senior this year and should be living it up.
Yet, every fucking time I turned the corner, there was Soot, making my life a living hell.

Their back and forth was indeed the highlight of the book for me. Well, that and the scorching hot sexual tension in the air at every of those clashes! The saying that it is a ‘fine line between love and hate’ couldn’t be more suited for these two. Their banter and then their unleashed desire from the very first time they gave in… WOW, just wow…

That was right. What we were doing wasn’t anything. It meant nothing. It felt like… everything.

Ashe and I didn’t work.
We fought like cats and dogs.
We were attracted to each other.
But attraction couldn’t carry a relationship.

If I was so into their banter and their chemistry, why not rate it higher you may ask, well, one thing, a PERSONAL peeve of mine, but I just dislike that Ashe was an inexperienced virgin – no matter the crazy justifications here, because hello, Ford had the solution at hand their very first time, lol, so why not use that solution with other men – and Ford was anything but. Not only that, but she had a front row seat to all his past, and even though they were enemies and weren’t exactly pining for each other – sorry but the virginity kind of discredited a that bit for me – Ford does say more than once that deep down he had loved her since then. If you know me, you know that is one of my peeves too, because come on,I’m all for the enemies to lovers, but don’t bring the ‘loved you forever’ to the mix when you clearly weren’t in love with each other when you hurt the other by rubbing others in theirs faces. Again I’ll say, it’s MY peeve her, but that declaration just makes my eye twitch every time it pops up when the actions prove the opposite. And the Linnet thing in the present?! I’ll not reveal so not to spoil, but I so wanted to nut punch Ford for that! Okay, mini rant over, because like I said, I sooooo loved their relationship, and they antics were AWESOME, so much so I have no doubt this would have been another five stars for me, and one of my LLV’s fav, if not for those two issues.

I couldn’t stop myself from loving her.
It was just impossible.
We may fight constantly like cats and dogs, but these feelings were something we’d been fighting since we were children.

Lani Lynn Vale is truly one of the most gifted authors I’ve ever read, and no wonder my addiction to her words is a ever present need in my heart. Only LLV could make me devour and love a couple, even with the small personal issues it nagged me about them. All the secondary characters that I’m dying to hear more about, the strong presence of all the parents – OMG, Trance and Viddy and Tru and Torren!!! – the LLV OG characters, and so much potential for future books and series, just leaves me giddy with excitement every. Single. Time.  And now after watching the silent and broody Hayes, I can not wait for next Month. Bet Mr. April will be as epic as they come! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“You’re mine, Ashe,” I told her bluntly. “You’re mine, and I’m yours.

“Turns out, we love each other.” Ford shrugged. “Hate is there sometimes, too. But mostly love.”
