GIVE IN
Series: Standalone
Author: Layla Frost
Genre:Contemporary Romance
I watched her.
I knew I shouldn’t. It was a mistake. Wrong. Forbidden.
A glimpse of heaven before a depraved angel led me to hell.
One email was all it would take to end the torture. A simple email, dropping Eden Wilder from my class and my life.
But I couldn’t do it. I was selfish—taking any bit of her I could.
That’s how addictions start. You give in just a little. Just once. Before long, your obsession has grown into a violent storm, shrouding you in darkness as it consumes your thoughts. Consumes your whole damn life. And everything you’ve worked for is gone.
But you honestly don’t give a f*ck. You’d serve your soul up on a silver platter for your addiction.
And she was mine.
Warning: Recommended for readers 18+ due to strong adult language, themes, and a stalkerific hero who puts the FUN in dysfunctional. Enjoy!
5 ‘ Holy mother of BUILD UPS’ Stars
Oh. My. World! This book, and this build up, devastated and put me back together in the most unexpected of ways! I have no doubt Professor Caine and his angel, his Eden, won’t soon be forgotten!
Give In truly is all about the build up, the slow burn that you deliciously want to gorge on, but slowly taste to enjoy every single moment! From the very first page you could see something BIG was coming, and all small details and intricate subliminal hints just made the anticipation that more delicious.
My Eden.
She was named after the garden of pleasure. The holder of untold bounty. The place where sin lurked and temptation dwelled.
She was my promise land.
My secret.
My obsession since she’d walked into my class a few weeks before.
For months now, Professor Caine and Eden have been playing a game, first by completely ignoring – and majorly failing – to fight their attraction, and second to push each other’s buttons for reaction, specially after Damien finds out about Eden’s money earning job as stripper. For then he just can’t resist, specially not with his hidden possessive and dominant nature. No one is allowed to see and touch what is his, and after so long fighting his urges when it came to Eden, he slowly, oh so slowly, starts losing the battle with his control. All because of his depraved angel….
Some people believe that at death, an angel comes to guide souls to heaven.
If that was true, Eden was the angel they sent to guide souls to hell. She’d give them a glimpse of heaven before they spent their eternity in fire.
And every soul would follow her willingly.
And so the true battle begins, with Eden constantly pushing away, his unwavering pulling back, and all that SEXUAL TENSION, oh boy,Ms. Frost sure knew how to rev up our engines with all this heat. The slow burn just built up to scorching proportions when their relationship climaxed.
Because I was a marionette…
And that very bad part of me wanted to hand Damien Caine my strings.
It was truly about power play and control, so much about control. SO if you’re worried with the BDSM potential content, don’t be, because this was all about power play and control owned by the über dominant figure that was Professor Caine. The insane PASSION and smoking hot, sexually charge moments take dominance, and that is what is all about. His showing her a new and passionate world where she could truly be herself, and him her everything. Their student/ teacher trope just gave it that extra spicy kick of the forbidden, that I love so much.
“You’re doing that thing where you sound calm, but I can feel that you aren’t. How does no one else notice that?”
“Because no one else is made for me the way you are.
It was a long way until Eden stopped pushing so much and allowed Professor Caine to show her even a glimpse of all he wanted for her, for them. It was indeed a troubled, bumpy ride, with Eden not only pushing away constantly, – and justifiably so considering his apparent cold, dismissive and even mean demeanor towards her in the first third of the story -therefore making me feel aggravated towards her but also using MY beloved Brooks (that’s right, very seldom I find myself rooting for the OM, but this man was just ah-amazing!) as a ‘rebound’, sometimes going to far for my personal liking, but fortunately realizing soon enough to cross the boundaries. It was just too long her pushing and her sometime immature trigger reactions that made us dislike her a bit.
Fortunately Damien, after revealing his true nature and feelings in the second part of the book made up for any less fortunate attitudes of both characters – his initial icy facade towards her, and specially her bad decision as consequence of acting without thinking first and not talking, lol -, he completely stole my heart with his swoon-worthiness and the depth of his feeling we could feel seeping through every word, gesture and thought when it came to Eden.
Ethereal.
An angel.
Mine.
Completely fucking worth it.
My depraved angel, promising me paradise before leading me to hell.
Dark, but not overly so, just enough to give it that extra edge, just making Professor Caine, über controlling self that more delicious, and their romance that more forbidden/taboo. The secondary character – including MY man Brooks, were interesting and appealing on themselves, and made the storyline that much richer. Their power play and romance was truly the focus of the book, but there were so many side elements that enhanced that hooked us even more to the story, and these two.
For all his demands, it wasn’t my immediate, mindless obedience he wanted. He wanted me to stand tall against him.
And then he wanted me to give in.
I had to be insane to want it. But I did. “I want it all.”
And once she FINALLY gave in, it was such a thrill and joy, not only to Damien and Eden, but ourselves as readers! A true climax that left me beyond satisfied, relieved and overjoyed. After all that build up, all that insane sexual tension, and scorching HOT sexy scenes, it was like an vulcan of emotions and giddiness exploding! Ms. Layla Frost truly has an immeasurable writing talent, and Give In showed that in spades. The wittiness, the complexity, and the snarky humor were so brilliantly weaved, that I had no change but to devour the story wholesome heartedly, and even after that amazing and beautiful ending even wish for more. Considering how these two put us through the ringer, lol, that says it all, that like the greedy reader I am, I wanted even more and more. Let the stalking for a new LF book begin!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
“You want to break me.”
“So fucking badly.”
“So you can rebuild me. Change me.”
“What the hell would I change? You’re already perfect,”
“I want to break you so you let me past all these walls you have up. I want to consume your thoughts. I want to be your addiction. Your obsession. I want you to feel what I feel and need me even a fraction as much as I need you.” His midnight eyes seared into mine, his voice pleading. “Give in. Trust me to take care of you because I love you, Eden.”
A cacophony of erotic chaos.
My favorite song.
“Told you, my depraved angel, you can lead me to hell, but as long as I keep getting glimpses of your heaven, I’ll happily follow.”

Layla Frost has always been a rebel. A true badass.
Growing up, Layla used to hide under her blanket with a flashlight to read the Sweet Valley High books she pilfered from her older sister. It wasn’t long before she was reading hidden Harlequins during class at school. This snowballed into pulling all-nighters after the promise of “just one more chapter”.
Her love of reading, especially the romance genre, took root early and has grown immeasurably.
In between reading and writing, Layla spends her free time rocking out(at concerts, on the couch, in the car… Anywhere is a stage if you get into it enough), watching TV(the nerdier the better!), and being a foodie. Though she lives in NY(the state, not the city), she’s an avid Red Sox fan.
