Oh boy! Is it HOT in here or is it just me??? 

I know, I know, by now I should already be used to Tessa Bailey’s level of smoking hotness erotic perfection – she is, after all the queen of dirty mouthed alpha males –  but this one just cemented that in a whole new level!

Wound Tight is the first MM Romance by the author, and as I’m completely addicted to her writing and Made in Jersey is one of my favorite series, I couldn’t miss this one, even though it’s not a genre I’ve ever read before, (yes, I’ve read plenty of MMF and MFM, but we all know it’s not exactly the same, lol), and decided to pop my MM romance reader cherry with Renner and Milo’s story, and let me tell you, it was SO worth it!!! <3

Renner have been circling around each other for months, actually, since the very moment the security guard come to service as his employee. Renner has lived a life where control and rules have taken over, and are the only way he can function properly as well as his defense mechanism of choice. Rules and control that he applies to every single aspect of his life, which is mainly dominated by his work and his need to overcome himself every day on a professional level, so when the care-free security guard, to whom he is secretly attracted, clashes his controlled world and rules at every turn with his ‘take no prisoners’ attitude, he can’t help but be every day more fascinated…

Putting up with the subtle jabs and sarcasm had nothing to do with Renner’s reluctant fascination with the security guard. Or the way a flame lit under his blood every time the man was close by.

Milo Bautista has been just has drawn to his new boss since meeting him, but his attraction hides so much more, because what no one else know is that he has recently realized, or better yet, acknowledge to himself the true nature of his sexual orientation. And being Renner a confident and self assured gay man, he represents what Milo longs to acquire, a security in himself, sexually, that he doesn’t possess. Or at least that the excuse that he gives himself for wanting to care and protect Renner, and even stalking him… LOL

Instead of learning how to be comfortable in his own skin by following the lead of a man who epitomized confidence, Milo had developed something of a crush. Who wouldn’t? Renner was concise, demanding and intelligent, and he didn’t give a fuck who disapproved of him. A badass who could raise an eyebrow and have employees running for cover.

I loved Milo’s character! His honesty, and straightforwardness, as well as his glass-half-full attitude were so refreshing! His loyalty and protectiveness to the ones he cared for just made him even more incredible!

He enjoyed taking care of people.
For some reason, that quality was amplified around Renner. By about seven million notches. Probably because the jerk needed taking care of more than anyone.

Of course all these extraordinary qualities only spiked Renner’s interest more every day, so when one of those days Milo confessed – completely blowing his mind – that he was attracted to men, there was no stopping their magnetism. Even though Renner sure as hell tried, placing obstacles at every turn and revealing his rules that deemed Milo as ticking all the boxes of whom he didn’t ever allow himself to date.

“No one under thirty. No one with even a remote connection to my company. And no one on the fence.” He paused. “That might seem a little harsh to you, but it’s better for everyone involved if there are no second thoughts or regrets.”

But in reality, all those rules proved more than futile, because their off-the-charts attraction had to explode at some point, and when it did, there was no stopping them! 

“I make the decisions. Do you understand? Boss inside work, boss outside of work. That’s me. Your dick seems to like that idea just fine.”

And Lordy, let yourselves be prepared because an unleashed Renner, in all his alpha maleness, filthy mouthing glory, was a thing of beauty! Up there with all the other Tessa Bailey’s dirty talking alphas! There was no mistaking who was in control in this relationship.

“Fuck. I’m so hot watching you make up for lost time with my cock. You can’t get enough. Just like I can’t get enough of that pretty-boy mouth.”

Even if at times Milo was just has dirty mouthed as his first male lover.

“I want to suck you off right here. I want you to remember me on my knees, my head bobbing up and down between your legs, next time someone tries to fuck around with you. Or tries to make you forget that you run shit.” Another, longer lick. “You’re the man, Renner. So sit back, watch me make you come, and feel like it.”

But he got off much more on being on the receiving end of all that dominance and filthy words, because as he soon discovers, it’s what he has been craving all this life. Or maybe that’s just Renner himself. Maybe he’s  WHO he has been craving all along…

“Tell me, Renner, because I needed you to…mark me. I kept waiting and you never came. So I need to hear the reason you wouldn’t let me leave with anyone.”
“Because I want you for myself.”

Wound Tight is quite a rocky journey into their relationship, and at times my heart was really hurting for Milo, and his gentle soul with all the back and forth and pushing away from Renner. He really was the best, because Renner was amazing too, but damn, his reactions sometimes gave me whiplash! His fear and defensive walls around his heart are justified by what happened in his past, but Milo, with his love and openness ends up conquering them all! And his Renner’s major groveling sure did help a lot! 😉

Now I’m just sad we have to say goodbye to this series, and all the Made in Jersey gang – from whom we got one more delicious peek here – because they just proved Tessa Bailey’s incredible writing talent over and over again, and here with a very special twist, given their blue-collar characters, which was undeniably refreshing! But I’m sure that soon enough TB will brings us more surprises like this series, and I can’t freakin’ wait!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
