RELEASE BLITZ + REVIEW: CHUTE YEAH (Valentine Boys #3) by Lani Lynn Vale

CHUTE YEAH

Series: Valentine Boys #3

Author: Lani Lynn Vale

Genre: Contemporary/Cowboy Romance

Release Date: March 24th, 2020

Synopsis

Candy Ray Sunshine—Yes, that is my real name, thank you very much, Mom and Dad—knew two things.

One, she was going to work her butt off and open her very own coffee shop, even if she had to die doing it.

Two, Banks Valentine was the world’s worst ex-boyfriend in the history of ex-boyfriends. Even if they were only boyfriend and girlfriend for one evening. She wouldn’t sneeze on him even if he was on fire.

***

Banks Valentine also knew two things.

One, he was an immature jerk when he was in high school, and Candy Ray Sunshine probably could open a coffee shop if she put her mind to it. But he still thinks that she should shoot a little higher, anything that gets her the heck out of Kilgore, Texas.

Two, he likes riding bulls. It’s a dangerous job, and when he gets on the back of one of those thousand-pound death machines, he can finally feel his head clear enough that he can think.

***

Candy and Banks would never get along. Not after what he said, and definitely not after what she did.

Then again, neither one of them expected that night to end the way it did, either—the night that both of them refused to talk about the next morning.

3.5 ‘ I Squeeze You’ Stars

Hot Damn… These Valentine Boys, or should I say Banks and Candy, sure put me through the wringer! Every single possible emotion, Chute Yeah guaranteed ALL of them!

I did not expect this book to put me to tears and break my heart for Candy immediately in the first few chapters! It really wrecked me…

God, I really needed to get it together.
But, the problem was, I didn’t ever have it together when it came to Banks Valentine.

After reading the second book, I knew we were headed for quite a journey with these two, but I was beyond shocked when the heartbreaking scene and its consequences happens, and it was not at all like I anticipated. And it is regarding that initial scene and how it’s not only kind brushed over  in the present, but specially Banks’ intentional role in the matter that  my only issues with their story happened. For me, sure, Banks was not the one that cause it to happen, but it were is actions that in a way led to it, so I was kind of disappointed that Candy just so easily forgot and forgave so fast – yes, I know it’s been years, but they are just now in contact with one another, so in this timeline, it was fast for me – while I never truly forgot why she was in that situation, specially the what if. We can’t change the past, sure, but I wanted him to truly feel the impact of his actions – tho he was living is own nightmare too, I know, but know that he knows what happened he should have groveled more, imo.

“Because life doesn’t work that way, Banks,” she said. “I’m broken. Nobody wants the broken things.”
I begged to differ.
I wanted the broken things.
I wanted her.

And apart from a couple of initial references to it, although I much like that it’s not focused on what happened in the past – I just felt it was kind of made light of something that would still mark her to this day, so I don’t know if it’s because of the easiness she just let go and brushed it aside, but I just felt unsatisfied for her, in this.

That being said, only Lani Lynn Vale could make me end up with such happiness for a couple when at the start my heart was bleeding and my belly hurting for Candy, while wanting to nut punch Banks, lol. After the past was let go, which as I said was quite early on, we get the full splendor of the LLV effect. Pure literary delight!!!

Candy Ray Sunshine would finally be mine.

I wanted it all.
With her.

Candy and Banks, once they let the past go, were such an amazing couple together. The banter, the chemistry, and the love, was incredibly to witness and I couldn’t get enough! Sure, I once again could have gone without the ‘have loved you since we were kids/always loved you’, but we all know how that is one of MY personal peeves, specially considering how things unroll in the past – yes, I know Banks was just a stupid kid as he said, but still, those words just made my eye twitch hard, lol – but I could have gone without these type of declarations. What makes it better for me here is that even considering what happened, she wasn’t exactly pining for him either, so I was happier about the whole thing.

And once she gave the go and clear the air, seeing Banks’ joy at finally being able to express his feelings and making her HIS, wow, damn… He sure is one HOT cowboy! Kind, gentle, attentive, but still all Alpha and devoted to her and her feelings, the man sure turned into an amazing romance hero.  Candy was a kickass, take no crap kind of woman, and I LOVED it!

This couple was SCORCHING together, oh boy, were they ever! The steam level in their sexy times is off the charts!

Another HUGE highlight for me, not only in this book, but in every single one of this series, is the true, deep, unbreakable bound of the Valentine family. They love each other so genuinely and so intensely, that it’s impossible not to fall for these men. They are so true to themselves, and the way they love and care for their own, is sure to bring the coldest of hearts warmth. So swoon worthies!!!

“You make it incredibly hard to be good,” he said gruffly.
The problem was, I didn’t want him to be good.
I wanted him to be bad.
I wanted to be bad with him.

I’ve said it many times before, and guess I’ll say it many times again, Lani Lynn Vale is a romance mastermind! Only her can pick up a subject that normally would put me off, and still make me enjoy the hell out of not only the story, but also root for the couple, and be so beyond happy for they achievements, and their HEA. Chute Yeah is the proof of exactly that. All the possible feels in a crescendo that wraps up in the most heart warming and HAPPY of emotions. Addictive writing is too lesser of a descriptions, I can not get enough! Specially after that sneak peek at Darby’s book, I can’t wait to see what Ms. Vale will bring us on the last of this epic family of cowboys… I NEED IT NOW!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

“I squeeze you, Banks,” I told him. “If it’s my choice, I’m going to always choose you.”

“And I squeeze you, too.”

“You’re worth the wait, though,” he told me seconds later. “Always have been, always will be.”
