Synopsis

When rescue looks like a whole lot of trouble . . .

The road trip was definitely a bad idea. Having already flambéed her culinary career beyond recognition, Rita Clarkson is now stranded in God-Knows-Where, New Mexico, with a busted-ass car and her three temperamental siblings, who she hasn’t seen in years. When rescue shows up—six-feet-plus of hot, charming sex on a motorcycle—Rita’s pretty certain she’s gone from the frying pan right into the fire . . .

Jasper Ellis has a bad boy reputation in this town, and he loathes it. The moment he sees Rita, though, Jasper knows he’s about to be sorely tempted. There’s something real between them. Something raw. And Jasper has only a few days to show Rita that he isn’t just for tonight—he’s forever.

Excerpt

“So.” He plunked his beer down on the bar. “Where were you four headed in that big, rusty Suburban before Hurley reeled you in?”

She looked pensive as her shit-stomping boots started to sway back and forth, bumping the wooden rungs of the stool. “We need to be in Coney Island by New Year’s Day. So we can jump into the Atlantic Ocean.”

“Why—what?” He dropped onto the stool beside her, his drink forgotten on the bar. “That’s pretty high on the list of things I didn’t expect.”

“Oh, I know the feeling.” A beat passed. “It was our mother’s last wish.”

“I’m sorry.”

She nodded, brushing her hair back in a jerky motion, as if she were uncomfortable having someone’s undivided attention. He’d never had cause to use the word preposterous before, but that was the only way he could describe her lack of confidence. Despite the inappropriate name, the Liquor Hole was his life’s work, and, at the moment, it was nothing more than an unworthy backdrop for Rita. And, God, he was staring at her hands like an aggressive palm reader. “Most mothers want to avoid having their children turn into floating ice sculptures. What was her reason?”

“Good question.” A hint of sadness winked in her eyes, and Jasper wished he’d let the subject drop. This was what happened when he avoided talking about sex. He stumbled right into deceased parents. And yet he wasn’t sorry. Not even a little bit. He wanted to know everything. “I think…she meant it as some sort of symbolic bonding experiment. But I don’t know. We’re kind of unbondable.”

“Got the feeling I interrupted a near-melee this afternoon.”

“Aaron called my soufflé decent.” A strand of dark hair caught on her lips when she shook her head. It took one hundred percent of his impulse control not to tug it away, but she beat him to it, anyhow. “It sounds silly now.”

“Nah.” Jasper couldn’t help leaning in to get a whiff of cooking spices. “He would have had it coming just for dressing like a preacher on a weekday.”

Another one of those quiet, smoky laughs. “I guess there’s a fine line between politician and preacher.”

“Politician?” Jasper shivered, then recalled the threat Rita’s brother had leveled at his head back on the highway. “Still, I can’t help but like him for wanting you safe from a stranger. He can’t be all that bad if he worries about you.”

“Worried might be an exaggeration,” Rita said.

When her golden-brown gaze lit on his mouth, Jasper realized he’d moved into her personal space without any conscious thought. One of her knees brushed the denim covering his hip and, God help him, if the bar were empty he would’ve been between her split thighs before she could call for Jesus. For someone who hadn’t felt more than a passing appreciation for the opposite sex in years, his libido was sure trying to play catch-up tonight.

“What are you thinking about?”

Lie. He had to lie. I want to strip you down and fuck you on this seat, but I’m trying my hand at being a gentleman, was not an acceptable line. It was too aggressive when she seemed spooked merely from his close proximity. But she was leaving, leaving his town tomorrow, and the slow-game option had been ambitious for Jasper when he knew nothing about it. So he’d tell the truth while leaving out the oh-so-dirty reality in his pants. “I was thinking it would have been a goddamn shame if you’d broken down one town over.” His voice was gravel, so he cleared it. “More than a shame. I’m kind of finding it hard to think about, if you want to know the truth.”

For long moments, he couldn’t hear a single sound in the loud bar. No music, no crunching ice or raucous laughter. And, somehow, he knew she couldn’t hear the noise, either. It was there in the perplexity of her expression. He expected her to call bullshit or make a joke, but she didn’t. She shocked him instead.

“I’ll think I’ll take that kiss now.”

About the Author

Tessa Bailey - headshot

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Synopsis

Christmas Winter is lucky she loves this time of year, because her name didn’t give her much of a choice. She’s always bubbly and happy. So when she takes a job as an elf in the mall, she’s excited to spread some cheer. But Christmas could never expect what happens when she catches the eye of a stranger.

Nicholas Light owns everything he sees, and when his eyes land on the new elf in his mall’s Santa exhibit, he knows she’s no different. There’s something about her sweet innocence that he has to have, and he’ll concoct a plan to make that happen.

Warning: Grab your jingle bells and swing them over your head… This holiday quickie is gonna light up your Noel. Okay, none of that made sense. But it sounded festive, right? This book is adorable, and you’ll love it. Just don’t get tinsel stuck in the wrong places. Trust us.

header-stealing-christmas

CHRISTMAS has come earlier this year with our naughty duo, Alexa Riley!!!

Stealing Christmas was such a sweet smutty holiday tale! It really leaves feeling warm and fuzzy, in the best and naughtiest of days!

As per AR’s tradition, we have a sweet insta-love story – which I love – where Nicholas Light takes a look at one of his mall employees, and even through a simple image on the his screen he knows he must have her as his own, that she is special.

I’d never heard her speak a word, and yet I knew she was kind. I’d never felt her touch, yet I knew she was tender and sweet. I’d never kissed her lips, yet I knew that she was the one.

Special is indeed the perfect word to describe Christmas White! She loves the holidays and adores spreading the holiday spirit and joy to all of those around her, specially now that she is for the first time alone, so this pleasure is what gives her purpose and puts a smile in her face.

And this joyful and happy feeling is just what  Nic was lacking in his life. That and Christmas herself, of course, LOL! And that’s what he gets, because from the moment they meet for the first time, she’s just as enraptured by him as he is by her!

The pull between us is growing, and for a second my heart squeezes. It’s like I’ve been looking for my lost half and now here he is, standing in front of me. Which is insane, because I don’t even know him.

And we have the perfect AR’s smutty formula: insta-love, OTT alpha and lots of sweetness and steam filled moments to go around!!!  Add to that a lot of sparkle and snowy holiday spirit and we have a perfect holiday smutty novella, and that’s what we get with STEALING CHRISTMAS!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I want you as my wife and the mother of my children because I’ve never met anyone I’ve wanted as much as I want you. I’ve never touched someone and had my whole world tipped upside down. I’ve never laid eyes on someone and instantly fallen in love. But the moment your eyes locked with mine, all of those things happened.”

“Did I ever tell you Christmas was my favorite holiday?”
“Brace yourself, baby. Every day is going to be Christmas now that I’ve stolen you.”

Excerpt

I dug through the pile and found the envelope she was referring to at the bottom. It was impossible to miss with US Citizenship and Immigration Services listed on the upper left corner.

“Crap. Crap. Crap,” I chanted to myself as I tore it open. Then it turned to “fuck, fuck, fuck” as my heart dropped. I read through the letter quickly the first time around, and then much more slowly to make sure I wasn’t misunderstanding what it said. Unfortunately, the meaning didn’t change the second time around.

“I’m fucked,” I groaned.

“Not yet you aren’t,” Landon growled from the door as he barged into my office and slammed it shut. “If you were, I’d know it because I’d be the one doing the fucking.”

His raspy voice slid over my skin and heated it. Just the sound of him talking had my panties wet, and I’d been avoiding him all this time because I’d thought he’d be the reason why I had visa problems.

“All those wasted opportunities,” I muttered.

“Not wasted,” he corrected. “Foreplay.”

“I don’t have time for this right now, Landon. Not when my whole world is falling apart,” I cried, waving the letter in the air.

“You sound as bad as Samantha did when she told me to get my ass in here.” He tore it from my hands, and I dropped my head to my desk while he read through the letter.

“It’s just an additional interview, Zoe,” he said soothingly, in a failed attempt to calm me down.

“My visa was approved by an immigration officer at the border two months ago. It was easy peasy. I showed him my TN visa application letter, my bachelor’s degree, and my passport. I answered some questions about how long I planned to stay in the country. About how often I planned to go home to see my family. Boom, I was approved. Which means they shouldn’t have any additional questions for me,” I retorted as I jumped to my feet and paced back and forth. “Except, someone apparently has it in for me since they received a tip that I lied about my intent to stay here for only three years. Who would do something like that?”

“Calm the fuck down,” he ordered, as though it was that simple.

“Calm down?” I parroted. “That’s easy for you to say since you’re not the one in danger of being deported!”

“Neither are you.”

“I beg to differ”—I stormed towards him and jabbed my finger in his chest, absently noticing how firm it was—“since an appointment at an immigration field office sure sounds like the start to yanking my work visa to me.”

“You know what?” he drawled. “Don’t calm down. Feel free to freak the fuck out because in the end that will work out even better for me.”

“What in the heck are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about you and me, Zoe. You’ve been denying what’s happening between us for two, fucking long as hell months,” he growled, his eyes lit with determination. “You’ve used your work visa as an excuse to keep yourself away from me. Well guess what, Blondie? Giving in to me is your way out of this mess.”

“I still have absolutely no idea what you mean. Maybe you can dumb it down for me since I’m blonde and all,” I muttered sarcastically, not a big fan of his nickname for me.

“Fine,” he bit out. “I’ll make it as simple as one word—marriage.”

“What? No,” I gasped. “We haven’t even been out on a date!”

“And whose fault is that?” he countered. “It certainly wasn’t for a lack of trying on my part. If I’d had my way, you wouldn’t have a single doubt about how damn serious I am.”

header-temporarily-married

Super sweet, super HOT and super quick/short read, that’s what we get with Not So Temporarily Married! It was indeed all around SUPER and classic Fiona Davenport! <3

Zoe, a recently graduated architectural Canadian designer decided to take a bet and spread her wings into Uncle Sam’s lands. Luck was on her side and she landed her first job working for an established and prestigious architectural/construction firm. But it is clear from the very first day that she was just lucky on the professional department, because she caught much more than a job, she caught the undivided attention of her boss, the smoking hot, Landon.

Landon knew from the very moment his eyes landed on Zoe that she was his future, the only woman for him. His future wife and mother of his children. He insistently pursued her from the very first day she started at his company, and had been quite patient in waiting for her to change her mind – yes, for a FD’s hero he showed quite a restrain, not taking what he wanted for all those months, LOL – until the very thing that was keeping her from him worked in his favor, her work VISA conditions! Let’s just say he was more than happy to solve her affliction with the perfect solution that would please both of them, marriage.

Zoe was of course shocked, but given the insane attraction to Landon, that she had been fighting from the very start, marrying her boss sure was the furthest from a hardship!  Now, she was just in for a bit of a surprise when she would realize that this marriage was going to be real in every vow and way, and the NOT SO TEMPORARILY!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

Synopsis

First loves don’t last. Especially one as unlikely and turbulent as Elodie and Caspian’s.

It’s been years since she’s seen the rough rebel she fell in love with as a teen. She’s put him behind her and moved on. That’s the story she tries to sell her friends and family, but deep down, she knows it’s a lie. She hasn’t moved on from Caspian Cruz and she probably never will, but she has to finally give up hope they’ll ever reunite.

Or does she?

When her friends drag her to a sold-out rock concert, she comes face to face with the lead singer . . . who just so happens to be the boy she fell for all those years ago.

She never thought she’d see him again. She never realized he’d made it in the music world. And she never expected him to confess that he’s been waiting for her as long as she’s been waiting for him.

What will happen when their worlds collide again? A repeat of the past or a second chance to get things right?

ROCK HARD is a short and sexy read, chock-full of excessive sweetness and heaps of filthy talking. Not for the faint or square of heart.

Excerpt

“Men suck. It’s official. If a girl like you can’t keep a guy, there is literally no hope for me.” My friend, Sydney, shook her head and took a drink of her margarita.

“Just to confirm, you know for sure that he was cheating on you?” Our friend Jessie twisted on the stool to look at me straight on.

Exhaling, I pulled my phone from my clutch and scrolled through a few messages until I found the one I’d been sent a few days ago from a number I didn’t recognize. I refused to look at the picture, but I made sure Jessie and Sydney got a good look.

Jessie’s eyes narrowed.  “Two-timing, sorry bastard.”

Sydney winced like the image was grotesque. “Dude, if that’s what he looks like beneath that fancy composer’s tuxedo, let that violin-playing hussy have his pasty, blubbery ass.”

“He’s all hers,” I said, tucking my phone back away.

“Hans was crazy about you though. I don’t get it. Why the sudden change of heart?” Jessie pulled the olive from her martini and popped it into her mouth.

“Oh, please, it didn’t have anything to do with his heart. He was thinking with his dick when he fell into bed with Tits McGee there,” Sydney chimed in, which worked for me. I wasn’t eager to hash out my most recent failed relationship with anyone, my two good friends included.

Hans and I had been dating on and off for a couple of years. He was the conductor for the world-renowned Los Angeles symphony, twenty years my senior, and had a golden reputation in the upper circle. My parents had been thrilled when they found out I was seeing Hans Vandenberg, visions of musical-prodigy offspring dancing through their heads.

No doubt they’d been devastated when I told them we’d split. They probably would blame me for ruining it even if I showed them the photo I’d been sent of him asleep and naked in bed with some other woman. They always seemed to prefer the ones who treated me like crap over the only one who’d ever treated me the way a person who claimed to love someone should.

“I bet you’re relieved you didn’t let him finally wear you down, right, Elodie?” Sydney had to nudge me to bring me back to the present. “Way to hold out on a guy for two years. You made his true colors come through.”

“His true colors being pasty with a splattering of really unattractive body hair,” Jessie muttered.

“Truthfully, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. Hans and I were never good together. He or I should have called things off months ago.” I shrugged like that was that, because it was.

Other than looking good on paper, Hans and I had never made sense. I’d never once looked at him and felt my stomach drop, and I knew all he’d seen when he looked at me was a young girl he was hoping to add to his rumored lengthy list of bed mates.

That was part of the reason I’d held out for so long—I didn’t want be one of a hundred others, or even one of a few. I wanted to be the one of one. The one he’d waited for. I wanted to be someone’s The One.

“Okay, so I’ve got a brilliant plan for Operation Over Hans VanPastyAss.” Sydney tipped back what was left of her drink, lifting her finger at the bartender. “We’re going to get good and mildly drunk, then we’re going to go see My Mortal Affliction from the front row, baby”—Sydney pulled a trio of tickets from her purse, fanning them in my face—“we’re going to get on our knees and worship that god of a lead singer of theirs, probably flash him a few dozen times, then we’re going to make out with some really fine specimens before we allow our heads to hit the pillow tonight.”

My eyebrows came together as I studied the concert tickets. I’d agreed to meet my friends for a drink after my earlier performance, but I hadn’t planned on anything else after this. As it was, I was already checking the time, hardly able to wait to crawl into my bed and put an end to this day.

From the friends’ texts I’d had to field who were just finding out about Hans’s and my split, to avoiding my parents’ incessant calls encouraging me to work things out, to the concert where I’d felt haunted by a ghost during the last few minutes, I was ready to put this day to bed.

“I’ve got early practice tomorrow,” I said.

Jessie lifted her finger at me. “You’ve always got early practice. That’s no longer an excuse to dodge life.”

I blinked, offended. “I’m not dodging life.”

“Correction, you dodge the fun parts of life.”

My mouth fell open a little as I looked at Sydney to back me up, but all she did was lift her hands and keep her lips sealed. I wanted to defend myself, but they were right. Other than the endless hours I spent playing piano, my life wasn’t very exciting. Outside of these two dragging me out for the occasional good time, my social calendar was pathetic.

I had no idea who this My Mortal Addiction was, what kind of music they played, or if I’d even like it, but having my friends call me out stirred something inside me. They were right. I’d spent enough time waiting for my life to really get started. Enough time feeling like an empty shell.

“Well?” I finished the last of my wine and slid off of my stool. “Ready when you are.”

Rock Hard was the sweetest, most heart warming rock star/musician romance I’ve EVER read!!!

True, this is a genre a don’t venture very often given my personal pet peeves, and specially the renown and usual groupie drama attached to the trope, but this sugary sweet smutty story had nothing of those!

What it did have was one smoking HOT, swoon-worthy hero, Caspian! Sigh…

Caspian and Elodie have been in love with one another since they were teenagers, so when after two years of dating they were broken apart by her parents, and Elodie thought she had lost her heart forever.

Caspian. The first boy I’d ever loved. The only one I ever really had. The one who had promised me forever, only to make me realize forever was for storybook people, not real ones.

What she didn’t know was that her life was indeed storybook like, because not once, not even for a minute, did Caspian let go of her, and time and space meant nothing because she was always on his mind. She was is lifeline, his everything…

“You,” he whispered with conviction, his steps echoing around me as he moved closer. “All I want is you.”

Eight years passed, and just when she least thought possible, her life and heart rebooted, because right in from of her, as a rock star in a crowed concert was her First Love, Caspian Cruz.

“So I made a promise to myself to not approach you until I’d made something of myself. Until I’d become a man worthy of a person as beautiful and talented and perfect as you are. Until I made myself worthy of your love.”

“Caspian Cruz.” I lifted my head from his chest and looked into his eyes. “You have always been worthy of me and my love.”

Of course that very fast all the misconceptions were cleared and they fast realized that they were still just as much in love and devoted to one another now as they were eight years prior.

Caspian had always been like a drug to me, an addiction I could never recover from, even after almost a decade of being sober. He swam in my veins. He stirred my very being.

“Because I might want every part of you there is to have, angel, but right now, only one part is on my mind—the one part of you I’ve never had. I want to have it so I can know I’ve had every part of you. So I can say I’ve loved every part of you.”

Actually, if anything, their love shone even brighter now, because their repressed sexual craving (LOL) took it a whole new level, now that they were adults!

Caspian was already the perfect romance hero, with his immeasurable devotion to Elodie, but that extra dirty mouthed talk of his… Lordy… Not even Elodie was prepared – not that she was angelic in between the sheets – specially considering their equal inexperience on that regard.

“No, this isn’t making love wet. This is hard, rough fucking wet, sweet angel.” His mouth lowered to my ear, nipping at my lobe. “Is that what you want? Is that how you want me to take you?”

I sure as hell loved every second of it! And it more than guaranteed Caspian a place on my best book boyfriend list – and the main reason for my five star rating -, because equal parts sweet, devoted, loving and panty-melting is something we don’t see in romance these days. And that is exactly what Kat Austen gave us, once again, in the most perfect and unusual – least for me, at least – of settings. I can’t wait for her next super sweet, sizzling hot, smutty read! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“After all of this time, after everything, do you still want me? Do you still want a forever with me?”
I wasn’t crying. Sobbing was a more accurate word. “I want forever and then some with you, Caspian Cruz.”

Every part of me loved every part of him. Every piece of me belonged with every piece of him. I was meant to share my life with him, and he was made to share his life with me.

Synopsis

Billionaire Caleb Blackstone lives in the glamorous world of wealth and success, with every material luxury. But the moment he sees Brooke Casterley, none of that matters. Caleb is filled with a raw, undeniable need that he can’t ignore…for a girl who is so completely different from everything and everyone he’s ever known.

Only Brooke isn’t looking for love. She knows all too well just how much damage the wrong guy can do. Still, what sane, broke British girl can resist the charms of an incredibly sexy, chivalrous billionaire? What starts as flirtation quickly turns into all-consuming passion. Nothing could have prepared her for the searing heat of Caleb’s touch—or just how much she craves him.

Their whirlwind romance is the stuff of high-society fantasy—but for every moment of pleasure, there is a cost. Past mistakes and tragedy shadow them both…and falling for him might be the kind of trouble she can’t afford.

Excerpt

I would give this thing two drinks max before I was outie.

Nodding and saying the right things, I shook hands with the colleagues who’d known my father and accepted condolences from others. I made a mental note of the people who’d made the effort to mention his name to me, and I would write them down with the event and date as soon as I got home.

I’d worked my way through the room, as I had been taught by my dad—by the best to ever work a roomful of potential deals—when I decided I’d accomplished what I’d set out to do tonight. It was time for me to go. After setting my glass down on an empty table, I started for the door . . . until I saw her.

Just like that. She appeared in my line of sight and I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

The beautiful girl from this morning at the Starbucks on Hereford Street.

I knew it was her because how could anyone forget those sexy boots? Her blonde hair wasn’t down like it had been this morning, though. She’d pulled it back into a sleek ponytail . . . but she was serving at this event? I’d seen her go into that design studio next to Starbucks. She probably had two jobs. Industrious . . . beautiful . . . sexy.

I quickly returned for my half-empty glass and snatched it up from the table. I suddenly felt like an appetizer or two.

She saw me approaching and moved closer with her tray. “What are these called?” I asked without sparing her tray a second glance. Bad move on my part, but I was too busy taking in her golden eyes and hair, and everything else I could now see up close. Perfect skin, dark lashes that framed spectacular eyes, and a scar along the hairline of the right side of her face. Something had hurt her at some point in the past, and I found it utterly insane that I was disturbed by it.

She rolled her pink lips together as if she was trying to suppress laughter. “Well, they’ve told me it’s something called a . . . meatball. Very unusual gourmet creation. You should try one. They’re said to be quite delicious.”

That voice of hers was . . . fucking beautiful.

“Okay.” I picked up a meatball and popped it in my mouth. Didn’t taste a thing. I could have been chewing slaughterhouse by-products and I wouldn’t have known. My brain had shut off everything except her beautiful voice.

“You are either messing with me or that blow to your head must have been devastating. I would wager you’ve had a meatball before.”

“I am.”

She lost her smile. “You are messing with me?”

“No, I am devastating—I mean devastated—by the blow to my head.” What in the mother fuck was I even saying to this girl? I sounded like Rain Man minus the IQ. I needed to stop talking.

“I’m sorry to hear that. It looks painful.”

“It doesn’t hurt me now.” I think I smiled and shook my head but couldn’t be sure. Just call me the village idiot because I knew I was acting like one. I did love the sound of her voice, though.

“Another rare and precious meatball?” She offered her tray and studied me this time. She had to be disgusted by my appearance and turned off by my behavior, but she didn’t show it if she was.

“Yes, please.” I took another meatball but I didn’t eat it. “You are British.”

“You are American,” she said with a fast wink, before turning away to serve other guests.

I watched her walk away from me and felt the pounding of my heart vibrating throughout my entire body.

Something had just happened to me.

I wasn’t completely sure what exactly, but I was crystal clear on the reason.

Her.

The Blackstone Affair series introduced me to Raine Miller’s incredible talent and got me hooked on her writing style, becoming instantly part of my all time favorite series. So, when the Blackstone Dynasty was announced I was ecstatic, since I wanted to know more about this world and this family, so I was counting down the days to read about Caleb, after that blurb that fit all the right marks for me, and let me tell you, Raine Miller did not disappoint! Filthy Rich was fantastic!

Caleb was everything I was looking forward and more. Handsome, alpha, protective, confident, the right dose of arrogant and incredibly devoted and caring of those he loves. He ended up surprising me even more, when he shows that behind that well constructed facade of the power persona he was hiding a passionate and incredibly devoted soul. The moment he takes his first look at Brooke, he is lost, – in the best way – and he immediately recognizes her as the one and only for him.

Maybe that’s what made her so intoxicating?
I didn’t know and I didn’t care because it made absolutely no difference to me. I wanted her with a primal desire I could barely understand, yet I embraced that desire wholeheartedly because I was incapable of doing anything else with it. How could I not? She had enchanted me.

And that just made me love him even more, because he followed his instincts – and his father’s last words/advise – and truly let himself go to all these new and unique emotions that Brooke awoke in him.

The heart wants what it wants, and I’d discovered that for my heart, want was all wrapped up in the package that was Brooke Ellen Casterley.

Brooke has just been back to the island, and city, where she spend her teen years and start of adulthood with her grandmother, after losing both parents in a car accident. At the time she was forced to move to America, to the Blackstone Island, because of tragedy that left deep scars, but now she came still recovering after a whole new tragedy, that left her broken in more ways than one. Five months and she’s still fighting every day, but always with a cloud of sadness surrounding her. And you may think that would make Caleb step back, but no, that just makes him more determined to bring her happiness and vanquished those shadows.

I couldn’t explain why, but I felt like I just needed her. Brooke was like a breath of fresh air into my very narrowly constrained life. Refined, yet not haughty. Strong, but wielding her strength with a careful sense of purpose. Fiery, but not with anger, just wickedly intelligent sass on the tip of her tongue ready to fly. Someone who knew who she was, but not through entitlement and prestige. In other words, a complete anomaly in my world.

He was absolutely relentless, using all the tools he had at his disposal to get what he wanted, who he wanted, because for him, they were fated to be together.

Brooke and I were inevitable.
Inevitable.

Of course it wasn’t an easy mission, given Brooke’s scarred and deeply sad past, but I loved that there wasn’t really much of a push and pull from her part. She felt their chemistry, had her personal and justified reservations, but never cut him off. She could see his good and generous heart behind all that gorgeous and wealthy cover, mainly because he allowed. He opened up his soul and heart to her.

“My whole life changed the moment I saw you, Brooke. I knew it then. It felt like the shades were drawn open, letting the sunlight in after being shut in the dark for years. That’s exactly how it felt for me.”

Filthy Rich was such a heart warning, beautiful, love story about relationship development as much as personal growth and emotional healing as well and soul deep love and connection. Raine Miller created the perfect recipe to captivate us, yet again, to this new series and make sure we don’t forget Caleb and Brooke any time soon, while simultaneously enticing us with these intriguing secondary characters that I’m sure will provide interesting stories of their own.

Caleb and Brooke were perfect together, but what stood out more than anything and that I, personally treasured, and made it completely swoon worthy – and let’s not forget, panty melting, because, boy, were they scorching together – was the irreprehensible and memorable way he LOVED her! What woman doesn’t which for that kind of love and devotion?! It’s was Romance at its best!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“So I won’t ever forget that you are the heart and I am your key?” I asked.

“That is correct, beautiful.”
“What if I told you that you are the same for me, Caleb? That I am the heart and you are my key?”
“Am I, Brooke?”
I nodded my head up and down because I needed a moment to compose myself from the onslaught of emotions bubbling up. “You are inside my h-heart, Caaa—leb. You’re in here s-so very deep, inside a p-part of me I thought—I thought—wouldn’t ever be c-capable of f-f-feeling this way.” I splayed my palm over my heart and struggled to get the rest of the words out. “But my heart does work. You healed what was broken inside it and brought that part back to life.

About the Author

raine-miller

Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it’s a safe bet she’ll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine’s stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she’s now writing sexy romance stories full time. She has a handsome prince of a husband, two brilliant sons, and two bouncy Italian Greyhounds to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books.

After her father left her like a pile of unwanted trash, she began fighting.  Fighting to build a life. Fighting to keep her child. Fighting to matter.

Bowe wasn’t always so jaded, but when you keep drawing a losing hand, it tends to affect a man. He didn’t mean to lash out so carelessly. But he was so over being told no. He was done being lied to. He was through with being cheated on.

“What’s wrong with you?”  Booth asked, following me.
I turned my head only far enough so he could see my glare.
Obviously, though, the glare didn’t’ have the intended affect when he continued to walk into the room, parking his ass in the bunk straight across from mine.
Sure, the bunk was his, and I wasn’t the only one who shared this room, but I wasn’t up for any chatter. Especially after the night I’d had.
“You gonna make me guess?” He continued as if I wasn’t ignoring him.
“You’re a persistent bastard,” I grumbled, turning my head to face the wall.
“Come on, you know you want to talk to your best friend, Booth.”  He teased.
I tossed the man a look.
“You’re not my best friend.”  I told him.
He pouted, and I sighed, rolling until I was on my back, very carefully since it seemed the bed was about the same width as my back.
“I’ve completely and utterly failed in getting the woman I want to go out with me to even hold a conversation with me for longer than a minute.” I told him.  “I saw her last night—with another man—and I don’t know what to do to get her to see me.”
Booth’s mouth fell open.
“You’re shitting me.”
I shook my head, feeling heat hit my face as I did.
“No.”
“But…you’re the dream boat.  You’re the man that Masen tells me all the time is the hottest guy at the firehouse. You literally could have anyone that you wanted.  What’s the deal?”  He kicked his feet up so they were resting on the side of mine.
“Nothing to tell.  I’m just…awkward.”
“Awkward, how?”  He persisted.  “Awkward as in you can’t talk to a woman awkward, or awkward in which you accidentally whip your dick out of your pants to break the ice instead of using your big boy words?”
I tossed him a look.  “She was shot…or something. I have the girl in the back of the ambulance with her shirt off and all I can do is stare at the scars on her abdomen. My staring kept me from asking her anything when I had the chance. Now that I’ve decided that she’s worth losing my favorite mechanic’s trust, I’ve done everything I could to speak with her, and she still ignores me.”
“Where does she work?”  He asked.
“The hospital and for her brother.  You know her.”  I cleared my throat. “It’s Angie.”
Booth stared at me for all of two seconds before he fell backwards to the cot.
“You’re doomed.”
I laughed, zero humor in my voice.
“Yeah, I know.”
The tones dropped indicating a call was coming through for us.
We both paused in our conversations, and I cursed when I heard what it was.
“Mother fucker.” I sighed.  “This has to be a fucking joke.”
Booth’s face showed the way he felt about the call that had come in just like I was sure mine was as well.
“This is some fucking cosmic joke, isn’t it?”  I asked.
“Sorry buddy.”
Hurrying to my feet, I jogged lightly to the bay where my turnout gear was located.
Despite this being a medical call, we were still required to put our gear on.
Which was why I was sweating my balls off when we finally arrived at Soco Garage, the very same garage that none other than Angie Soco also worked.

“New guy.”  Someone muttered behind me.

I turned only my head to find Stone, the president, staring at me with hard eyes.

“Yeah?” I asked him, dropping my bag on the floor and heading in his direction instead of out the door like I’d originally intended.

“You’re here because you have a special set of skills that we need.”  The leader of the band of misfits, Stone, drawled.

I nearly laughed.

“That sounds like a bad line out of a movie.” I muttered, wondering where he was going with this.

He tossed me a glare and then yelled.

“Truth!”  Stone yelled.  “Ghost! Get the fuck in here!”

Ghost and Truth walked in the door at the same time, both of them turning to the side to walk inside, and stared at Stone

“Ghost, hold Truth down so New Guy can give him the fuckin’ shot.” Stone grumbled.

Ghost tackled Truth and wrestled him to the desk, then sat on him while Stone leaned back and watched.

“No, motherfucker!” Truth yelled.  “I don’t want it!”

“It’s the fuckin’ flu shot, you dumb shit.  Not a fuckin’ tracking device. Take a fuckin’ chill pill.”  Stone grumbled, staring at the scuffle that was going down in front of him.

I picked up the syringe from the table, similar to the one I’d given everybody else’s flu shot with, and stabbed it in the meat of Truth’s arm.

Truth bellowed in rage, and I flipped the guard up on the syringe before tossing it into the trash can.

“Done?” I asked Stone.  “I have to get to work.”

Stone nodded.

“Yeah, thanks.” He nodded. “Have fun at the nut house.”

I grunted something unintelligible, causing him to laugh.

“Don’t sound so excited.” He laughed.

I flipped him off and walked out the door just as Ghost was letting Truth up

“Why you gotta be such a big motherfucker?”  Truth growled.  “If you’d been anyone else, I’d have gotten away.”

“Why do you think I called Ghost instead of anyone else?”  I heard Stone reply.

Excerpt

“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
Ellis’s fingers pushed through my hair, sending currents of need racing through my body. For the first time in my life, I could feel. I’d spent so many years with a wall around my heart, but after just one look from Ellis, a few hours in the presence of her generous heart and her radiant smile, I was hooked.
“I shut my eyes at night and I see your smile. I’m a fucking crazy man, thinking about what you’d feel like under my hands.” I slid my palms up either side of her body, slipping my fingertips under the creamy straps of that thin excuse for a top. “I can’t stop wondering what noise you’ll make when I taste you.”
Ellis’ eyes shuddered closed, her fingers clutching at my hair before  I crushed her lips with mine.
I pressed my lips to hers in a kiss that was meant to say one thing—I owned her.
Her body softened and her lips parted, and I plunged my tongue inside hard and fast, tasting her and desperate to show her she was mine.
“You’re all fucking mine, Ellis.”
Soft gasps racked her body, her lips bruised and calling for more. Our mouths met again, tongues twisting together as I slowly pulled down the zipper of her skirt. Ellis pulled away, wriggling her skirt past her curvy thighs and revealing her gorgeous body to me for the first time.
“Jesus, I’m gonna explode.” I palmed my cock, jerking painfully against my zipper as she lay on the floor beneath me, only her scrap of a thong separating her sweet cunt from my mouth.
Pulling her thighs apart with my hands, I nestled my hips between her legs and ran my palms up the soft dip of her stomach, pushing her thin top up her skin and enjoying the blush that crept up her chest and neck. I pulled the scrap of fabric over her head and dropped it, my hands at her neck as I kissed her again. I couldn’t get enough of her fucking taste, her touch, her everything. Ellis intoxicated me.
“I can’t wait to feel you.” Her hand slid between us, palming the ridge of my cock and driving me goddamned insane.
“I’m going to fuck you so deep, you’re gonna feel me tomorrow morning.” I grazed my thumb across her tender nipple and watched it pebble and darken, desperate for more of my attention. “Are you ready for that?”
Her stunning eyes slammed closed before she caught her bottom lip between her teeth and nodded.
I caught her chin with my hand. “Look at me.”
Her eyes shot open, holding my gaze intently.
“Now tell me you want to feel me,” I ordered.
Her eyes burned with something dark, sexy, uncontrollable. “I want to feel you, Mr. Banger.”
My heart hammered when her fingertips popped the button on my pants and slid down the zipper. My cock flexed eagerly. The brush of her knuckles drove me fucking insane.
“Tell me, little one, are you on birth control?”
Fire burned in her eyes before she opened her pretty mouth. “No, sir.”
An uncontrollable growl tore through my throat as my hands instinctively sought her flesh. “Good. I want my cum buried deep inside your pretty little pussy.”
I slid a finger between her sopping folds. “You ready to cum for me, kitten?”

header-banger

I love a good and witty office romance and Banger hit just the right marks for me! And with such amazing main characters, it’s no wonder that this new Aria Cole made the list of my favorite office romances!

Tobias Banger was absolutely PERFECT and so freakin’ swoon-worthy!!!

If Da Vinci had seen Ellis first, it was her face that would be hanging in the Louvre, not the Mona Lisa’s.  Every angle was another burst of irresistible radiance.  I was at a point where I would have left the entire world behind for her.

Yes, he has a secret and tormented past in his YOUTH, but he tried to make up for it every single day of his life after, and honestly who doesn’t have something that they deeply regret and are ashamed of? That just made him more real, and lovable for me! And let me be completely clear, that even for this picky girl here, he couldn’t be a better man for Ellis, and that even considering his long gone sexual background, because I’m one of those that absolutely hates a descriptive and constant reference to this past and this is absolutely NOT the case with Tobias. This promiscuous juvenile past is only mentioned ONCE, not rubbed in our faces constantly like it’s so common and cringe-worthy for me in romance these days! And even in these parameter, that we barely know of during the book, he more than makes up for it with one of the longest celibacies I’ve ever read, basically his whole adult life, and for me that is how he proves he true character! He was so loving and sweet to her, that she felt what she truly was to him, the new center of his world. His reason for living, for breathing!

“Moving a little fast, don’t you think?”

“Not when I’ve been waiting a lifetime to feel the way you make me feel.”

And boy, did the man have a delicious dirty mind and mouth on him, were Ellis was concerned! His magnetism and sex appeal were palpable!

Ellis is an amazing heroine too, so smart, strong and sassy, it’s no wonder she cracked all the walls Tobias had built surrounding him, and isolating himself from the rest of the world. He truly was a tormented and lost soul until the day Ellis shone her light in his dark existence. He truly wasn’t leaving, just a shadow of a man who everyone thought had everything. They couldn’t have been more wrong, and Ellis fast realized how good, caring and loving he was behind that cold and detached facade of his. And how incredibly HOT he was for her, LOL! And don’t be in any way mistaken, because this isn’t in any way, IMO, this annoying recurring trope these days, of the manwhore / virgin trope. I never once felt that, quite the opposite! Believe me when I say this, because I’m one of those who immediately cringes when she realizes that’s the case, and here, it couldn’t be farther from my mind and our eyes!

I truly adored this smutty office romance, and both characters were so incredibly appealing and realistic for me, as was the slow development/dance of their relationship. And when they finally got together, by fate’s intervention, WOW!!! It’s a wonder how that office didn’t burn to the ground with that sizzling sex scene! So imagine how amazing he his when I tell you they’re just as scorching as they are sweet and loving together! Sigh… <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

You’ve got a way with words, Mr. Banger,” I teased.

“You’ve got a way with my heart.

“I didn’t know what happiness was until I saw you. Didn’t know what love was until I touched you. Didn’t know how much I needed you until you breathed life into me. Let me be your husband, and I’ll spend every day of eternity showing you how happy you make me. Marry me, Ellis.”

Synopsis

You know the old adage “if you love something, set it free?”
It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
The dumbest thing I’ve ever done.

I loved her. I lost her. Hell, I let her go. And then spent five miserable years without her.

To cope with the loss, I put pen to paper and wrote her a love story, knowing when she was ready she’d hear the words I couldn’t say all those years ago.

Turned out, not only would she hear them, but when Hollywood came calling, I made sure she got the lead role. After all, no one else could portray the character whom she’d inspired. Now she’s within arms’ reach and finally, she’ll know the truth in my heart.

Because that other cliché, “Actions speak louder than words?”
I’m going to prove it.
My words may have brought Ava Banks back into my life; I have to be enough to make her stay.

Excerpt

The air around us was silent save for the crickets chirping off in the distance. The cool Cincinnati breeze nipped at my skin while I waited for his reaction. When I’d started writing this novel, it had been an ode to my past love. My past life. But then it’d taken on a life of its own and become so much more. Which had made it that much more poignant. That much harder to fathom the one word that’d been haunting me for years.

Goodbye.

At long last, he turned to the final page and sucked in a breath. My stomach twisted in knots because he was about to read the end. And I didn’t know how he’d interpret it. Half scared he’d tell me that I’d lost my mind and no one would ever want to read this story, especially with that ending.

He didn’t make me wait long. As his head slowly rose, I was taken aback at the tears shining in his usually cheerful eyes. This man, who had always been like a second father to me, had been reduced to tears by my words. My words. Words we both knew for whom they were meant. And, instead of calling me a fool or attempting to kill me, he watched me with tearful appreciation, switching between nodding and shaking his head as if trying to process it all.

I didn’t know how to react, so I simply stared at him, waiting for him to say something. Anything.

He closed the manuscript and set it on the table in front of us before taking a long swig from his whiskey glass. I followed suit and enjoyed the smoky burn that did little to soothe my nerves.

“Jesus Christ,” he muttered, his eyes locking in on mine. “Tucker. You did it. You fucking did it,” he whispered, seemingly unashamed of his emotional display.

I nodded, the same emotion welling up inside me when I remembered the ending of my first novel. So many love stories begin with the girl who got away. Mine wasn’t any different. Not only in my novel, but in real life as well. Ava Banks was, and always would be, that girl for me. But, instead of slipping through my fingers, she’d made the conscious decision to leave. And, like most dumbass men, I’d let her. Hell, I’d pushed her away. I’d regretted it ever since.

But, now, I was hoping like hell I could get the second chance Trevor did. Hoping like hell my story would turn out differently than his. But, either way, I was putting myself out there, as terrifying as that was. She finally, finally would hear the words I couldn’t say all those years ago.

Now, I just had to wait to see what she’d do about it.

Tessa Teevan is a twenty-something book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are who she spends her time rooting for. They currently reside just outside of Dayton, OH with two adorably grumpy cats.

Trust us.
